Okay, I'm going to jump the gun on this, because I know how the thread is probably going to turn out, so before we all get our panties in a wad about it and bring out the usual "OMG ruining my childhood!!" rhetoric, I have one thing to say:

A remake is a remake. Learn to deal with it people. I loved the first three - maybe a remake could be interesting. Maybe not. But it's not going to change the first three movies.

Wow, they really are going after the 80's.

But who knows, maybe it'll be good.

Eh, they are trying two birds with one stone. For one, they are trying to get the 80's nostalgia crowd in and for two, they are trying to get all the tweens in because of Effron.

Has potential to be good, as long as Effron doesn't break into song and dance about the Delorean (That's if they don't use a different car for the time machine).

Remake or Back to the Future IV? Because that wouldn't be horrid. Maybe.

I don't even really like BTTF and I'm kinda like 'ugh' on this one... although Christopher Lloyd would be pretty good in that role still ala the directv commercial

Awesome. Assuming that it'll based in the current present day and that Marty still goes back 30 years to meet his parents, he'll get to see them dissolutioned about heading into adulthood because of the political cynicism caused by Nixon and thier decreased prospects of finding a job due to the economic downturn.

Meh, Hollywood is out of ideas so eventually every classic will get remade. Like Jux said, we just need to deal with it yo.

Interesting. I personally think it'll turn out good. Yeah, I'd rather see an addition to the story rather than remakes, but, in the end their just movies, nothing to get all bitchy about.

I won't see it. Michael J. Fox is Marty McFly. Who the fuck is Zack Effron?

That sounds awesome. And yeah, I still have my Back to the Future trilogy on DVD so it's all good. If it's good, then great. If not, then oh well.

I wouldn't mind a sequel although I didn't think there was enough special effects or anything in the first to warrant one remade with new technology.

I could understand a new sequel...but wny in the world would someone want to do a remake. The trilogy is perfect as is, and not nearly old enough to warrant a remake. if this was coming 10 or 15 years from now I could probably understand it.
