Despite the awesomeness that is the Transformers movie franchise designs, we have yet to see a "The Art of _____" book that usually comes with the release of blockbuster movies, or even a "The Making of" book.

This greatly irritates me. Particularly since there was one scheduled for the release of the second movie.

But alas, there is hope. Do you think the second one was cancelled because Hasbro has simply decided to release one at the end of the trilogy? How much do you think it'll run for ($30?)? How in depth do you want it to be?

I love these kinds of books!

Given how the bots were rarely shown in any clarity, it'd be lovely to get nice good looks at all of them.
It'd also be interesting if there was commentary on why some designs were/weren't used, how much input Bay and the writers have on, etc..

I'm with you on this topic, big time.

I've been wating for a book of this nature since 2007, and maybe this time we'll get a combined book of all three movies.

Personally I own the artobook behind King Kong and LOTR:ROTK and may be Vanhelsings soon.
Because ROTF had so many great robots that barely got any decent screentime, my hopes are for the sketches and renders ending up in the book.

Some of the main bots of my interest would be Bonecrusher, Blackout and the Constructicons, but artwork we haven't seen like real edgy shit you know?

I love epic art of/making of books and would definitely buy one for the Bay movies. The main thing I'd want to see is as many character design images as possible, from unused ones to final CG renders.

I'd love a book like this as well. In a way it'd make sense to release a comprehensive guide once DOTM is out, so we can see the evolution of characters between films. Would give them a good chance to show off the ´aging' of Prime and Bumblebee.

I'm pretty sure that the reason for the delay was because of TF3.

Yeah I'd kill for a book like this. Hopefully we do see one after TF3.
Would love all those fantastic movie designs collected together in some big glossy book.

Yeah, this should happen. And not some shoddy "making of" thing either, with pointless glossy photos of the live action stuff & crews and so forth (which often seems to happen and get confused with being an "art of") - just the concepting & character design stuff. Something to the standard to the Star Wars Art Of's, the Disney & Pixar ones, etc. If they rolled all three films into one book there'd be plenty to reproduce without filler.

The originally scheduled-but-pulled "Art Of" sounded like it was more of the "making of" variety, not the real deal.

I don't know about y'all, but I'd kill to get an actually good look at a rendered Jolt.

I'd totally go for a decent TF movie artbook. And Hyena would go nuts for one; she collects artbooks.

So, if this is the last movie, we sure better get an artbook. It's been three films already, what's the hold up? :peoples:
