hooters vs twin peaks hooters sues twin peaks amazing. sensitive information? sensitive like those girls nipples.
I wasn't aware that business models were subject to copywrite or whatever, but at least this might prove interesting.
i'm more interested in that topless asian restaurant. i can't seem to find it anywhere though. from what i read though, the company is suing ex VP hummel for stealing sensitive information. apparently, hooters forgot to turn off his access to company computers. hooters sues hummel
but a courtroom full of hooters AND twin peaks chicks. a judge's dream come true! on another note, quebec gave in to hooter's franchise only a couple of years ago. where were they when i was single and lonely? hooters montreal. on dit ooters tabarnak!
Its not so much an issue of the business model as him using all the connections and optimized ways of doing business he learned at hooters to benefit another corporation, and taking company documents (which would be propriatary company property) to do so. I imagine it's more hazy in the restaurant industry than in, say, heavy manufacturing, but nondisclosure is still nondisclosure and industrial espionage is still industrial espionage. I think the real thing to take away from this is how big and cutthroat the whole "breastaurant" industry is getting.
Even then, it still sounds more like Benchmarking than anything else... which is something every company that wants to stay relevant does.
jokes aside. how many other breastaurants are out there? before all this i've never even heard of twin peaks. its not like i actively look for these kind of restaurants. edit: nevermind found em' http://whipitoutcomedy.com/2009/03/30/8-breastaurants-to-go-to-instead-of-hooters/?obref=obnetwork the tilted kilt concept is the best by far.
You guy's do realize that Hooters was not named because of boobs. If you look at their logo, its actually an owl and the two OO's are the owls eyes. They just happen to look like tits instead. How Hooters went from owls to tits is anyones guess, but that was what it originally was. Owls as in late night?
exactly; its more like a play on words, trust me, they knew what they were doing when they came out with that...
I always assumed it had to do with both reasons (actually 3 if you include the owl itself), thus making it clever.
