I'don't like their names and I wish they had G1 names but From the KCA TV spot(Qaulity still crap) by the look of them,I can understand why both of them are called Mohawk and Hooligan,Because Mohawk actually has a Mohawk and as for Hooligan in the trailer too me he looks Hyperactive and childish. what do you think about Hooligan and Mohawk?
From his name off course but when Hooligan is on top of that building he looks like he is laughing but that's just me.
When issy yells at megatron to put sqweeks down look how fast hooligan reacts to her, he is very quick and skittish. The other cons look very slowly compared to hooligan.
i am absolutely baffled at how much personality this one character whose name we don't know has in a 1 second look with tons of cgi blur
What if this is concept art for Mohawk. All ILM would have to do replace the corvette parts with van parts
How can even tell which is which from that shot? I'm not expecting these to do much more than those DOTM dreads, so if we do get to know them it'll be a pleasant surprise. I think the names are pretty lazy too.. but at least they have them.
Mohawk and Hooligan aren't even "real" names, they're just what the production team called them. If they get toys, there's zero chance that's what Hasbro would call them - we know they can't use the name Hooligan anymore, and I'd be surprised if they managed to get Mohawk.
The thing that bothers me is not why they have such names, but why do they resemble already existing characters, are those just Cranckase and Long Haul rebuilt, cause it is common especially for Decepticons to get new names after they are reborn!
For movie-original characters, the production team apparently chooses names without any input from Hasbro, with their "official" names being decided later on during post-production. For example, AOE Crosshairs was called "Slingshot" throughout production, before finally being dubbed Crosshairs, because Hasbro doesn't have a trademark on Slingshot (see: CW Quickslinger). Hasbro didn't have the "Hooligan" trademark as of 2009, as they ended up calling their G2 Hooligan homage Fearswoop, and unlike big characters like "Hot Rod" or "Trailbreaker" I can't imagine it's a name they'd bother to try and get back. They might get Mohawk, but as a regular word it's the kind of thing that's not unlikely to already have a toys and games trademark, so don't be surprised if it's changed.
Nah Mohawk looked like he had elastic arms that came from his motorcycle tires. That's what I see which would be cool.
I have a feeling that Berserker is basically Hooligan but with an alt mode Hasbro has the licensing for.
Yeah, it's very possible. Don't think we've seen any evidence that there's more than one Dread in the film, have we? The one thing that gives me pause is that "Hooligan" was Crowbar's production name, whilst Berserker is the Crankcase design...
