Recently I tried hooking my laptop to my TV through S-video. Everything was fine the first time I tried it out. The 2nd time (earlier this week) I tried it, the colors were all faded looking. Does anyone by any chance know what I can do to make the colors show up normal again? I didn't mess with any of the settings on the laptop since the first time I plugged it in.

My first thought would be to double check all of your connections. Try and push everything as far in as you can, or unplug and replug everything.

Lol, that was the first thing I did. I hope its not the cable or something. I just find it strange that I tried it out two times the first day I got it working, and the colors were find

Sounds like a cable issue. I've used my laptop quite a bit this way to watch some tv shows and youtube stuff. Just check your cables again and if it still doesn't work, try picking up another one. I highly doubt it's your laptop.

Good luck with it--let us know if you get it going again.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

lol, the cable actually wasn't plugged in enough. Although it was tight, I have to put some force into the cable.

Not sure if this is normal, but it seems that I can't leave the S-video cable all the way in, or the TV with have faded color. At least I know now, and everything is good

My bad if it sounded confusing. It wasn't plugged in enough, but seemed like it. I had to actually put some force into it to get it in all the way, while before I was just plugging it in until it seemed tight and wasn't moving
