When you have 4 Armada Smokescreens lying around you have to do something with them. I used one of them for ol Hook. He was a fairly easy conversion with the worse part being sculpting him a new head and getting all the gears back inside! After that I based him black then used citadel Scorpion Green.

Nice. I also have an Armada Smokescreen, and I keep wishing I could find some use for him. It's amazing how much a differently proportioned head really saves this figure... good call. Great paint apps too.

As an aside, does anyone have any other ideas for who the Armada Smokescreen mold could be bashed/repainted into?

I think you just saved a toy! :lol

I always just hated the headsculpt for the original toy, and the bright orange never did anything for me either. You solved both of those problems and threw in some nostalgia to boot.

    Excellent! :thumb

Well I'd say grapple and hauler are both obvious choices.... or you could even go a different route and paint it baby blue and make Mudflap.

Heh... I guess I was thinking more in terms of not necessarily being a crane. I mean, the crane on that figure is pretty oversized... it could be replaced with a cannon, a radar array, or just removed altogether.

I'm just wondering if there are any classic G1 characters that might come out of that alt mode. For that matter, is that alt-mode actually based (even loosely) on a real vehicle?

In a weird sense it kinda be cool to see him as Soundwave. But is your call, Smog.

Shinobitron- That is impressive. Now it would be cool to use it for a Devastator custom, now that would be cool to see.

Well, maybe his boom could be turned into a telescope and he could become a Perceptor of sorts?

So cool that only a new paint job can improve such a toy.
He looks very good! Well done sir!

Lol zombie thread! As far as the question about making other constructicons go the answer is no. I have always been and still am against combiners. It always felt like a cheap gimmick to get you to buy 5 figures and it pissed me off to no end that when you finally saved enough cash to get the final piece it would be gone and you would never see it again.
