I'll be visiting Hong Kong during mid-April and I was wondering if any reisdents in Hong Kong could help me with good Hobby stores that sell Transformers? I'm primarily looking for Takara Animated and United stuff. Thanks :)

Funnily enough, I'm heading there as well! I'll be there all of April, May, and half of June. I was mostly curious about prices of figures there, and how much more will I be paying for them than if I just bought them in the US. I also heard that they get figures earlier than the US, is this true?

it depends on what store, and if you know how to haggle. They also get a lot of stuff straight from Japan and China, and yes they get a lot of earlier releases. But that would be Takara stuff.

again, shopping in Hongkong LARGELY depends on the store and on your ability to haggle. I generally survey about 8-10 "spots", compare the prices, which btw, can vary GREATLY. (you can find someone charging 50% more down the street, for example), and then haggle.

eh... well, the first rule of haggling, is that you HAVE to be willing to walk out. Haggling is just a game of the seller vs. buyer: who wants it more.

You should be familiar with the average price of a product, and ballparking what is the minimum he/she can do, etc... its more complex... its a lot of "on the fly" decisions and skills, comes mostly by experience...
