So, just kind of browsing on eBay before payday :D , I figured I'd take a look at Classics Skywarp. Two auctions (at least) had a buy it now of around $90! And these were for loose figures!

I think the release of Dirge, Thrust, and Thundercracker in Generations has raised the demand/value of Skywarp. Not to mention those who jumped in on the Classics collection a little later.

Glad I got my Skywarp for $23 from a board member here before ROTF came out.

I got mine loose from a local hobby shop a few years ago for about $15, I think. Him and Classics Starscream.

If only I could get Ultra Magnus. Thanks to FP upgrade, I can't get one cheap. I, for some reason, like the white Prime.

but skywarp is now the worst looking seeker and doesn't fit well with the others, CHMS is a much better bet

I bought 2 of the Classics set of him and UM the first time I saw it and even though they sat in the box for 2 years because I was really collecting the G1 originals and remakes then, it was one of my best purchases ever. Sold one set and was able to pay for my City Commander in full and then avoid the stress of trying to find these figures later.

To be honest, none of the three original Seekers have matching color schemes. If they reissued Skywarp and Starscream with deco's to match Thundercracker's (i.e. wingstripes, Decepticon insignia, etc) I would be all over them. Not likely to happen, however.

What are you talking about? He fits great with the others.

Especially if those others are Classics Starscream, Classics Ramjet, Gentei Dirge, Gentei Thrust, and Generations Thundercracker.

    Mmm, non-boring wing stripes FTW.

I got lucky with Skywarp as I did trade way back in October. Didn't pay a dime for it.

I decided to just get the KO CHMS one. It's sweet as hell. Only KO in my classics line, but I ain't paying 90+ for any deluxe figure.

I remember getting the Autobot City set and the Devastator set from BBTS not long before the demand for both began. Talk about good timing.

Yeah the striping on the engines is out of place, and so is the rubsign. Starscream isn't too different from Thundercracker I guess - as much as I love the 2.0 version, it could use some more detailing on it like Thundercracker has. Just my opinion.
