So, I was at Target today, just browsing around, and what I saw shocked me. Literally the entire Transformers area was covered in Dirt Boss's. Some were in package, some half out, and some just plain in the open, no packaging. There were a few deluxes and voyagers, but it was buried under the mound of Dirt Boss. I mean, i'm not joking, completely out of package Dirt Bosses were lying around the toy aisle, and it took so much self control to not just pick one up. What the fuck could've happened?

Scout packaging has some particularly weak glue holding the bubbles on this go-around.

I was at a Toys R us earlier and saw a Knockout with the bubble almost completely ripped off. Whoever did it must've run out of time to get him out, because he was still in there.

The Ransack I bought had it's packing bubble secured with scotch tape. About half of the scouts at my Toys R Us were held together in this manner. A few scout figures were out of package as well.

I was at my Wal-Mart once and there were Legneds Prime in ripped up packaging.

There were also TONS of scout Dirt Bosses, but none ripped out...

the heat from shipping weakened the cheap glue on them, I had opened a case of scouts at work and all the bubbles were totally loose.

we ended up marking them down and taping them up (i ended up buying dead end..only movie toy i'll ever own)

    hopefully hasbro fixes this issue.

another odd thing about it was the fact that the entire TF section was taken over by Dirt Bosses, i mean i'm not kidding, all of ROTF and TFA were buried under all of these Dirt Boss figures, be they in packaging or not.

ive noticed at several different stores that dirtboss's bubble is completely opened or hes just hanging there barely connected to his card. i think its something that happened in the factory when they sealed that toy.

ROTF packaging has certainly surprised me.

The ease of access is really shocking. No more silly flaps and tabs over flaps and tabs, just one set to get the job done, then the insert isn't bad, a couple of snips with a nail clipper, and your figure is freed.

The one that really surprised me...Human Alliance Bumblebee. Tape. Most of it's security was packaging tape. The pictures of Bumblebee and Sam on the front and sides of the window bubble are taped to the plastic, the top of the flap tabs into the top back of the cardboard liner, and then the flap closes up the side and holds in with a few simple tabs. Then sealed on the ends with tape.

The tape was the biggest time taking problem, really. Because it's so clear, I didn't even notice it. I opened the flap, started to pull the bubble and it wouldn't budge.

It was a bit shocking after years and years of ridiculous tabs, slots, flaps, etc. Animated and TF07 come to mind. Those packages made me want to cry. Animated especially.

I do miss the bubble flaps for the carded figures. You could close them up like a clamshell package without totally ruining the card. Now, they're back to BW/BM/RiD era packaging. Which is great for the easy portion, but sucks for the display/presentation portion. :(
