If you have a Comp-USA in your town, go there and get one!
I don't really need one but
I'd rather a good 250-300gb external for $150 or so.
I don't really get the point of the "thumb drives". But I don't do much transferring between PC's.
Up until last week a friend of mine with no home Internet access was using floppies to carry files to and from work. She called me in a panic because she suddenly couldn't get any computer to recognize a disk on which she'd stored about a month's worth of material. Rather than try to instill within her the habit of backing up, I pointed her to flash drives.
I love my flash drive. It's just a 128 MB Sony Microvault, but it's performed well. I don't think I'd need a GB though.
Good find, DC.
I use a 256mb drive for Uni and Prac Teaching.
For uni its just much more convienient than emailing my files to myself, at the local high school its vital because the net service is dodgy.
Nowhere near 1/4 full though, dont think I will ever need more than 256mb if I just have images and documents.
Thanks for the tip!

Awesome find dude! Thanks for the info! Ive been in need of a 1GB stick to transfer files that is not my PSP.
Aah, so *that's* what it's called in English!
Took me a while to figure just exactly what you guys were talking about
I have a 512MB Lexar JumpDrive that I use to transfer files between my home pc, my laptop, my work pc, and anyone I need to share files with that are too big for attaching to an e-mail.
I also have a 1GB Lexar JumpDrive, that is for music only, and plugs directly into the stereo in my jeep.
Don't worry. I'll show you MY thumbdrive at BotCon.
Sweet find and thanks, need to get one of these. These really come in handy and beats that 50$ one Circuit City was trying to push on me. (with a 40$ warranty etc so I'll end up paying 2,000 for it)
Might get 2. An extra one to stash the porn in.
LOL - I just thought of a use for my old 256MB thumb drive.
See, I have a T1 connection at work so I'm always downloading all kinds of crap for use at home...
Sweet find, D_C.
I use 2 (both of them are 256MB) of those for music and pic backup purposes.
My trusty 128 is brilliant for a quick easy way to transfer stuff from home to uni and back again etc. I keep a few ebooks on it so I'm like a walking resource library! I've been meaning to get one that has more storage and can play mp3s.
Yes. I've found that you can fit 2 big bush 70's porns, Appetite for Destruction, The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, seven screenplays, the Aquaman pilot, AND Death in the Family all on one covenient 1 gig jumpdrive.
Makes work go by.
What brand is it?
It's just says "CONNECT" on it, I guess it's just "comp-usa" brand.
Separate names with a comma.
