Yeah, I was just about to say...it was probably some moron who didn't read the MUCH LARGER THAN NORMAL FONT that specifically says "no figures included".

Actually, it took more than three morons to bid it up that high.

also notice when he added the info about no figures, less than a day before the auction ended.

i think the seller was trying to pull a fast one so they could say they said it was box only.

idk why wouldnt you just mention it right off the bat? that alone is being shady.

Kind of a shady auction. I had to a double read of the description (the original description) to catch what the hell was wrong with the auction. With that being said however, how the hell did the bidders not question this auction?

Not really. The original text clearly states what's included. The seller probably added the additional information to clarify to the ebay illiterates after the auction increased to an abnormal level.

Highlander3000 is actually on the TFW boards as said name. It would be interesting to see what he would do. He made the revision by the time it got to $120 so maybe he got an inkling that people were reading more into the auction than what was there for the taking. They still bid the hell out of it even after his revision.

Well then, that's not Highlander's fault. Maybe these bidders should actually go purchase Hooked on Phonics too.......

Yeah I agree; bad choice of words on my part. It's not the seller's fault for sure. I guess some people need visuals :lol

    Ebay:
The bid was at 146 July 5th, a day before the edit was put in.

If you look at the bid history with automatic bids shown... the bids went from 150-~400 in the last hour of the auction.

s***n has an autobid set the hour before... and then the prices go up way higher from there. Also there was a bid retraction from a low-scored eBayer for 450.

Regardless... if anyone's silly enough to pay for it in order to avoid tarnishing their score... sheesh.

Almost makes me want to put my BOX on ebay and see if anyone is stupid enough to buy it. :lol

Also interesting that some sets have sold (just the boxed set, not the extras) at $600. The price is steadily creeping up. Makes you wonder what will happen when the combining parts are shown. Heck, imagine if the parts are REALLY GREAT what will happen??

Possible Shattered Glass level pricing, or maybe even exceeding it :)  SG Roddy prices went crazy when Shadow Scyther came out

I saw that and almost bid till I read the description and was like.. wait wait. BOX with certificate.

    It never said box set..

Oh how I wish I could see the buyer's reaction when it shows..

The funny thing about ebay now, is that the buyer has no issues if they don't pay. I sold some stuff and the buyer never paid.. I COULD NOT leave negative feedback, I simply could get the fees associated from the sale removed thanks to filing for a non-paying buyer.

    Very irritating.

Now I'm sure ebay could close your account.. But would they?

This kind of reminds me of a recent auction where somebody was offering (only) the Jetfire from the two pack with Prime.

    It still broke 160.00

Did somebody REALLY need that Jetfire, or were they incapable of understanding basic English?
