Man, I wish they would do this! The Star Wars Transformers aren't exactly my cup of tea, but wouldn't it be great if Hasbro released Hollywood-inspired Transformers?

Ratchet - Ecto 1; Bluestreak - DeLorean from Back to the Future; Hound - Jeep from Jurassic Park; Prowl - P1 from the Blues Brothers. That kind of thing. The Mach 5 would probably be Mirage and I don't know who could pull off the Tumbler, but I would sooo buy that one.

Why doesn't Hasbro do things like this? They need some good ideas for a change.

Because of all the license fees to the different studios, creators, producers, etc, etc. You notice that the current crossovers are all Hasbro brands.

Now GI Joe Transformers that can fit 25th Joes in Alt mode seems like a no brainer.

And yet, the two lines remain surprisingly separate. I've never understood that.

I hear you. Especially after that awesome crossover comic a few years ago. Seeing Cobra Commander holding Megatron in gun mode just looked so natural. That would make a cool figure or diorama.

You know where I see GI Joe figures in the UK? Discount stores. The rest of the world doesn't give a toss about "a real American hero." Sorry.

Dude, Optimus1986 is new here. Don't go hurling insults at him just yet. If the thread annoys you that much, don't read it.

I dunno about Hollywood, but we need game crossovers.

Just for the sake of Metal Gear REX Grimlock.

You know what would fit in with this concept? '80s action series vehicle gestalt. Imagine a gestalt whose component members transformed into Airwolf, Blue Thunder, K.I.T.T., Street Hawk and the A-Team van.

You must've know that I meant you right...right. I apologize to you though, but the way you phrased your sentence really annoyed me.

    Should have been written:

The whole "a real American hero" in quotes really comes off as d-baggy. The percieved anti-American attitude on the board lately has really be bothering me.

And you're both right. That was a dig, plain and simple.

Anywho. I can't remember, but didn't Hasbro say that they currently had no plans to make a G.I. Joe Crossover TF?

So GI Joe isn't marketed as "a real American hero"? Huh, Wikipedia has failed me.

Anyhoo, transforming '80s gestalt: does it have a place in the Hollywood TF lineup or what?

I know they used the Snowcat in Energon, so it's entirely possible. A HISS tank would be ideal for a Decepticon.

At least you guys got Action Force, us canucks just had to make do with GI Joe, the american version, with the american flags swapped for Canadian ones and one or two filecards with American cities changed to Canadian ones.

And I only support your 80s gestalt if it is composed of a GMC van that turns into B.A. Barracus, a helicopter that turns into Howlin' Mad Murdoch, and two welded together montrosities that turn into Face and Hannibal. Together, they form the mighty DevATeam.

Cmon, the tech specs write themselves! eg.
Hannibal: "I love it when a combiner comes together."

They'd probably never recoup the money they would spend on licensing... but man, IMHO that is one GREAT idea you have there!

    Ebay:
oh, let's take this all the way to the endzone for a score...
    we got TF:U.
Why not an Elseworlds line like Batman had?

Take that Gestalt idea Optimus Sledge had and use it in different periods of Hollywood history. or just sell em as two packs or multi-packs .

Take the 60s tv cars- batmobile, the car from Green Hornet, Munster's dragster and even the Beverly Hillbillies truck...

or a set of popular movie vehicles.

alternate something like this between waves.

anyone want the hoverbike from Judge Dredd?
sounds dumb at first, but a two pack of the bikes from Easy Rider.

    just throwing geeky fantasies around
