Sigh. I hate these things. And I hate them more now that I quit drinking. It's a smaller gathering, about a dozen people, and I have no interest in their lives nor they in mine. 40 hours a week with these people isn't enough? But it's at a pretty nice restaurant. At least I'll get a good meal out of it.

    Here are my dinner options:

    1. 16 oz. Prime Rib
    2. Flat-iron steak with mushrooms
    3. 16 oz. Drunk & Dirty sirloin
    4. Land & Lake: 8oz sirloin & walleye fillet
    5. 20 oz. Kansas City Strip

    What should I order?

    I would say a coin toss between 1 & 2.

EDIT: I just noticed I'm the only "non-content guy" to post in this thread so far.

If they do the Walleye right (which most restaurants can't) I would go for #4.

Now I will have to eat some of my Lake of the Woods Walleye after saying this, or else catch some more Saturday.

Seconded. Damn now I know what I am cooking for dinner.

Personally I like my prime rib dipped in a Jack Daniels BBQ sauce with a hell of alot of JD added, then washed down with beer. Nothing like food that gets you drunk.

You too, huh? I have to go to one this coming Monday and I'm less than enthused. Eating with a bunch of office people that I don't even like working with is about as exciting as a rectal exam. Where you going? Mine is at Murrays, which I've never had any interest in going to since I'm not much of a 'steak house' guy. I'm planning to ask the waiter if they have Tofurkey Steaks. (for the record I'm not a vegetarian but I AM an ass.)

Sadly that's not true. I've been one place that there was roughly about 2 bites of steak and the rest was fat.

    I say #2

I'd go for the #2, sans mushrooms. But that's just me.

I get to bail on my campus' big ol' staff/faculty holiday party this year since - yech - I'm getting braces put on the same day (tomorrow). Which is just as well. Says something when I'd rather be in an orthodontist's chair than have to mingle with my co-workers.

Remember, Prime Rib is what Optimus would choose.

Why you ask, because that's just prime.

I'm going to Axel's Bonfire Grill out in Plymouth. I'd much rather go to Murray's. Get the Silver Butterknife Steak. It is FANTASTIC. And you can cut it with your butter knife.

I found out the Drunk and Dirty is marinated in either Jack Daniel's or Jim Beam and then dry rubbed in what may or may not be cajun seasoning.
