I'm sorry but I need to vent some anger, I was going to buy my brother a really nice chess set for christmas(no not some $10 target item). This thing was pretty good look, walnut finish 15"x15", complete chessmen set, rised platform so that it had drawers underneath for storage of the chess pieces. Altogether it $58.95 last night, it was too late for me to order it last night so I sent it to my email to buy it today. I sign on and go to the site through the direct link and see they jacked the price up to $78.95 I mean come on, just because it's December 1st doesn't mean you should jack the price up. I just get tired of this crap. Also no, it wasn't on sale.

Can you get it somewhere else, or a different, but similarly nice chess set from somewhere else?

It may have been a Thanksgiving weekend sale that expired on the 1st of Dec. But I too get frustrated at missed sale opportunities.

It's not too late to take up wood carving and make a set yourself. Handmade gifts are far more thoughtful and economical.

Nope I seen it in the beginning of November anad just thought I'd get it later on. So I checked for it again and found the same one

Unfortunately nope, not unless I can find an unused one on eBay, I googled and Amazoned it, couldn't find anything near as nice for less than $89.95

That's commercialism and capitalism. On a holiday where people "have" to buy something for some reason, demand of that item increases.

More demand means less supply means increase of price. You can always wait after Christmas.

There's no real proof that any of that 'theory' is true. It's just an excuse to rip people off...which is what capitalism is. It's immoral human behaviour.

    Dang, that sucks.

I know overpricing is a very common problem for the holidays, but I can't watch TV without seeing a commecial every 5 minutes, advertising what great sales Wal-mart or Target or some other major retail has!

    The Irony, huh?

I was at a Walmart today where I noticed the GI Joe Movie P.I.T. was $129.00 instead of the usual $100.

But since it's WalMart, you can get them to price match it to a fake price. Tell them it's currently on sale at Kmart for $70, or something like that. In the WalMarts in my town, they rarely ask to see an ad for proof; they just take the customer's word for it.

I was planning to order a Tool shirt for my nephew for Christmas on Amazon. But I thought it was crazy to pay around $30 to order one.

So I decided to stop at Hot Topic to get him a Tool shirt, but they had the same shirts he already has. So I bought him a Transformers shirt with the head of Prime on the front.

I saved $11 by shopping at Hot Topic instead of Amazon.
