It's a sad day in Florida. Early this morning, a fire started in the giftshop of Gatorland of Florida, causing heavy damage to portions of the park. Fortunately only four animals have been confirmed dead among the thousands that reside there.

Many of you may recall a shot of the memorable Gatorland entrance during the opening credits of National Lampoon's "Vacation". As of this evening, a cause and a point of origin have not yet been determined.

I must have been to Gatorland two dozen times for field trips and family outings as a kid. They plan to rebuild, and are hoping to have portions of the park reopened this year. Before Disney, Universal, etc... this is where we all went.
