Cobra...!!

 

Oh... so it's just the review? I was hoping to find the leaked script too...

It's promising, at least it seems much closer to the original GI Joe story then the TF movie's story was to G1's.

Are there already actors assigned to the roles? Who will be the Baroness?  

 

Sienna Miller was the last I heard

 

never liked GI Joe. It always seemed so cheesy to me back in the day and Transformers didn't. Still love TF's as much as ever, but hate Joe. Maybe some cool vehicles in the film I can hope.

Sounds promising..much better than the really early indications. The lack of CC in the review lends credence to the crap rumor about the character though. Also not sure about this 'in the near future' and pulse rifle business. Why can't they just use like..guns? Ratatatatatat > ptewptew.

 

^^^Maybe the director is trying to make sense of all those laser guns in the cartoon series?

 

I just hope that some of those lasers actually hit someone.

I never understood how you had so many soldiers on the filed shooting lasers and the only things that ever got hit, were the vehicles.

I know it was a cartoon, but even as a kid it made no sense.

 

 

I'm agree with that.

Personally, I read the spoilers. I'll just take a wait and see attitude. JI Joe was never as much of a sacred cow as Transformers, so I won't get as irritated if Hollywood decides to have Brad Pitt play Snake-eyes and Halley Barry Scarlet.

Because, after all, this will be a film for general audiences and not the fandome, and making Scarlet a red head and Snake Eyes a silent ninja might alienate the new audiences.

 

I will go see this movie and hope that I can see plenty of these:

 

If you haven't read the spoiler on Cobra Commander's casting choice and identity, do yourself a favour and don't find out. It's seriously bumming me out.

 

Great review, it raised my expectations without giving anything away.

 

GI Joe is a human movie. It will be much easier to get it right and translate it directly to live action.

 

please don't tell me that kid from 3rd rock is really going to be cc and that they're using that whole duke's friend storyline? i was praying that was just a rumor.

 

I wonder if this movie's Cobra Commander will have more in common with Yosemite Sam or Keyser Soze.

I have NO IDEA what's going on with Cobra Commander. Last time I "spoiled" the script for myself, it was for the rejected script with Cool Dude and Action Man. So needless to say, I'm rather in the dark about any spoilers in this movie, and I want to stay that way.

But I've heard rumors. Just in case these rumors are true, I'd advise everyone to avoid GI Joe's IMDB page. And I'd just like to say that I certainly hope those rumors are false.

I would really prefer that Cobra Commander has no origin. That way, we won't have to risk any one of those rumors I read happening, and just have Cobra Commander already operating by the time the movie starts. Kinda like how Magneto was always evil well before the events of X-Men 1.

 

Anyone have a copy of the removed script/a link to a mirrored site? I came a bit late, and so...in short: I missed out 

 

^^^Ditto. I don't follow GI Joe comics, and I'm really curious to see Cobra Commander in the comics without the mask. The only time I've seen him unmasked was in GI Joe: the Movie, which was...er...rather bizarre.

 

Well, I'm pretty sure the human actors they're casting for the roles appear photo realistic enough.
