I'm looking at the in package and offical shots of the Animated Shockwave I bought yesterday, and I find it hilarious how mistransformed Long Arm Prime's face is...I mean it's not even down all the way.

What I'm getting at is: What is it with Hasbro and not knowing how to properly transform their products before taking it off to get photos?

Agreed. The cover of the latest Toyfare for example. Pretty sure Hasbro provided the picture.

I get a huge kick out of pics like this, lulz.

In their defense Hasbro makes many toy lines. From what I understand is that when a department, like the TF team, finishes with a product they send it off to the art/photography department to be photographed. The photo dept doesn't usually have anything to do with the individual toy line though. They probably just have a butt-ton of toys to photograph and Shockwave was probably just "next in line", right after Baby Alive and before the My Little Pony.

Granted the easy way to fix this problem is to just send more one of each toy already transformed in whatever modes they want it shown in... they're Hasbro, I'm sure they have a few extras laying around somewhere. But hey, who am I to point out the obvious.

On a related note: if you take a look at the Toy Fair 86(?) catalog photos TFWiki just put up, there are quite a few mis-transformations. Including Ratbat and Frenzy and those were pretty instinctive transformations, not like today's TFs

Of course the instruction sheets often feature minor mistransformations as well.

In fact just this week I discovered extra joints in my HA BB's doors (up and down) I'd been unaware of. Almost positive no official photos or the directions indicate you can pivot the doors up (which is a very good thing).

I found this out because my cat knocked him on the floor and at first I thought my cat had broken him...

Apparently some people do actually have this attitude; although not TF-related, a guy on YouTube did a review of a Build-a-Droid figure from the Star Wars series with its head on backwards. I tried to explain to him that it was incorrect but he refused to accept that because Big H had it pictured that way on the cardbacks its parts came in.

A pic that I took myself, oops. Don't pay attention to the air intakes and wing rudders.

"Doesn't look right" compared to what though? G1 Ironhide/Ratchet? Energon Hot Shot? The entirety of the Armada line?
