I hear that somebody on the Hostel forums got all pissy and said something bad about the Transformers movie! I better go spam them. I need a clever name like "STFUMATUREADULTS" or something.
So, from the last four lines of your post you're saying, pretty much, "Skip Hostel II." Thanks for the advice, I totally will. Way to go, moran.
The first Hostel was really, really awful. I normally don't like to single people out for their ideas, but the protagnist running over the whores in the street was incredibly stupid. What luck! He just happens to see the whores and their pimp from Amsterdam who travelled hundreds of miles to have a face to face meeting in the middle of the street at a busy intersection. Oh, then he just happens to meet the sicko with the drill on the train ride. You couldn't pay me to watch the second one. Okay, well you could pay me...
I like how the age certifications on modern horror movies more accurately reflect the maximum age of people who are likely to find them entertaining rather then then the minimum age of people who should be watching them.
Wow...someone who admits to liking 'Cabin Fever.' IIRC, that was the one with inbred redencks attacking some tourists, right? Wow. Anyway, I saw the title of this thread, and LOLed. 'High quality' and 'Hostel.' Heh heh heh. To those who think these are some of the 'best films ever,' I hope the seniors treat you nicely next year, and avoid wedgies best by travelling in packs. I'm not anti-horror by any means, and truthfully thought the 'Saw' trilogy got better as it went. But 'Hostel' was a cheaply made "Look at me! I've got boobs and blood" film at best. Edit: Machete FTW!
Nope, you are thinking of The Hills have eyes or possibly Wrong Turn. Cabin Fever was the flesh-eating virus out in the woods that eats up a group of campers. -D
The man knows. Personally I'd love to see "Machette". Danny Trejo FTW! Yeah, thanks for playing. Arsepiece.
Rednecks then attack the college campers after they've contracted the virus. I have to admit that Cabin Fever is a creepy movie for the flesh eating virus part alone.
Ah, yes. I saw both around the same time. I have to admit, then, that Cabin Fever was not the worst horror movie to ocme out recently. Wrong Turn takes those honors. And back on thread...why are we celebrating bootleg copies of this being available? I know people around here who get upset if you take one of their pics for your sig without permission- how's this compare to taking an entire movie which someone is planning to make thier living from?
I don't think anyone is celebrating the bootleg -merely pointing out that it exists and the movie is not even in the theaters yet. I was telling my neighbor about the first Hostel and after recounting the tale to him it again became obvious to me how stupid the "plot" of the movie is. These guys are in Amsterdam partying and having sex with hot chicks -prostitutes and otherwise. Some guy shows them pictures of different hot chicks in a Hostel in Slovakia so they decide to leave the country and go to Slovakia to have sex with hot chicks there but get tortured instead. Because, you know, even if a guy has sex with a chick in a bathroom then goes to a prostitute and has sex, he will travel across country to have sex with other chicks if you show him a picture. Oh wait, that is not an accurate synopsis. According to Eli Roth it is a case study of Americans' ignorance of the world outside America. Surely it can't be about boobs, ass and torture.
We aren't celebrating. Did you read the story that I linked to? I find the rationales behind pirating and other kinds of theft and what is or is not acceptable to be downright fascinating. For a myriad of reasons I don't dare broach the subject (here on the boards).
