    EDIT: Oops, redundant info.... nevermind.

I would check out the Resources link at the top of this site, though... you'll find a lot of info there about the various lines.

    The main ones are:
Generation 1 (US/ Japan) the orginals
Generation 2: Somewhat infamous for neon colors, though we did get some articulation
Beast Wars: To some fans, the greatest TF line of the 90's, it improved on the ball joint of G2 in every one and led to some unique and popular characters
Beast Machines: Controversial, I can get into a whole flame war over it
    RID: or Car Robots
Armada/ Energon/ Cybertron: Unicron Trilogy, had a Unicron in some form through all 3 lines, introduced mini-cons
Classics: Return of the G1 characters to bridge gap between Cybertron and Movie line
Movie: The line for movie characters and characters designed with movie style
Animated: New line for current cartoon
    Universe: or Classics 2.0

Well, I wouldn't really call Revoltech a major TF toy line. More like a giant robot in general line. There is only 5 TF's in the line of around 40-50 (I think, not to current on my revoltech releases)

No one's mentioned Machine Wars yet. It was a small line and a KB exclusive, but it was a full-fledged toy line.

There's also the Animorphs and the Go-Bot kiddy lines.
