The Arker has posted comparison pictures of the upcoming "Hunt for the Decepticons" Voyager Optimus Prime with the previous Movie 1 & 2 Voyager mold of Optimus Prime. The new figure is more accurate to the big screen version of Optimus, but appears to also be slightly smaller than his previous incarnation. Check out the comparison pics here at the Arker.

Still can't get past his lack of paint apps. But surely there will be repaints so I'll just wait until a better version comes

HFTD Prime is a lot smaller!

His vehicle mode is almost deluxe size. Not sure why this keeps happening, as with voyager Blackout for example. Well, I can guess but I'm trying not to be that cynical today.

Still a great figure though. Have we seen any comparison shots with deluxe Ironhide and Ratchet?

I know it's not as accurate but I like the old one better. New one is way too lanky for my tastes.

I agree. I'll wait for a 'Robovision' version of the new voyager. I'm also going to wait to see how they manage to improve the Leader mold of OP for Movie 3. I imagine he'll get a Matrix of Leadership (or whatever the Movie calls it) for his chest since the Voyager version has one. Also, I'm hoping Prime gets a fresh paint job for the new movie as well. Surely, with this being Bay's "Final" Transformers movie, hopefully we'll see some Nemesis or Motormaster repaints.

This just means that he's the same size (or so) as Voyager Megatron, which is perfect.

That is quite a bit smaller, which is disappointing but he looks way more accurate in both modes, which is cool.

I'll decide in a year or so when they're cranking out the movie 3 line.

He should be a little smaller (Prime is 32' and Megs is 35' if I remember correctly).

But I can't see for myself cause the pictures wont load!

New one just feels like a shrunken down version of the Leader mold. Then again, I ain't bought a Voyager Prime since Robovision so I'm glad I can pass on this.

Very true, but considering the current Voyager Prime slightly towers over BOTH Voyager Megatrons, I consider this to be an improvement.

For all we know, he might actually be a bit smaller.

Very true. We'll just have to wait and see. I really hope with the third line of toys they make it so Leader Megs is just a little taller than Prime. I also hope for them to push Prime more and make a really great leader Megatron, so I can feel like I have the best possible guys with my main set (voyagers go in a different group).

Glad it is an all new mold similar in size to the kick ass Fallen and green Megatron figures from ROTF. Wish it was molded in darker blue/red. More silver paint instead of just plain gray molding would have been cool too.

While the new one is undeniably more detailed and more accurate (and doesn't use false windows! Yay!) I have to say I prefer the beefier, simpler original version overall. Maybe it's because I'm sort of ambivalent to the movie aesthetic in general. The older one appeals to me more in its structure and proportions, as opposed to the stringy new version.

Still... a pretty impressive looking figure, paint apps or no paint apps.

It has its flaws- I don't care about scale in comparison to other toys, so him being so small is a negative to me. Also, the lack of paint apps on this guy is far more bothersome then the Leader class since this one's plastic is a bit translucent. I also really like the current Voyager and never felt the need for another.

Heh, all that being said, when I see him, I'll get him.

I don't care about him being small for scale, however I really dislike all the small voyagers. I fell like I'm not getting my $$$ worth honestly.

Don't own either of these, but I think I almost like the old one better.

It's a great design, but Buster Prime is the way to go (or at least the regular release version)- this has just lost something as it's been shrunk down.

I can dig folks not enjoying the smaller scale, but in hand the new voyager prime is a simply amazing figure. Would like to see a robovision-esque repaint myself, but pics really don't do the figure justice.
