made from a rotf scout class hubcap.
base painted in automotive matte black, hand painted in tamiya acrylics.(except for the gold, which is testors brass)
his front bumper was shaved off, leaving only the fenders on the front ends.
his hood and trunk are wrapped in 3m "carbon fiber" clear print vinyl. unfortunately,it's the wrong scale/grid size, but they don't make it any smaller while keeping it realistic.(it's the same stuff i use at work to wrap tail lights/marker lights/mirrors/door handles/etc on real life vehicles.)
his wheels come courtesy of hotwheels.
the windows and tail lights are also hand cut vinyl.
like his team mates,he also sports a hole in his rear end in alt mode for something fun later on.

    bio=(from tfwiki)
All of the members of the Hot Rod Patrol are known as troublemakers, but Trip-Up is the one who starts the kind of trouble that gets someone's nose busted. Overly aggressive and always out to prove himself, Trip-up thinks only with his fists, starting fights when he gets bored with trying to start races. Team leader Big Daddy makes no attempt to discipline the rowdy bot, but does try to occasionally steer the impressionable Hubs away from him to keep the younger Autobot from emulating his violent behavior. One Trip-Up is more than enough.

love the checkered paint job on him. very sharp on the paint apps all around the green gave me a bit of a fright simply becuase i wasnt expecting it. you hid the green well in his alt mode. Altogether this turned out realy nice

The Old School Car lover in me is pleased!!

Even though, as you stated, the CF scale is off, I still like it, it works for the era this car would be from.....I've seen the same sized pattern applied in real life, so no frets there.

Overall, this is some very nice work O.....better not let me see these at TFCon....I might have to make them disappear....:lol

Ah ok. i did read it before i looked it over but must have overlooked that part. (darn ADD) it still looks great as part of the paint to me. it does feel and looks like a checkered design ive seen on custom cars.

I totally agree, wish more folks would post the inspiration for repaints and such, so I don't have to go look them up all the time :p

    thanks man!!

there is actually a carbon print available that's done by 3m also, the scale is right for this, but we never order it at work because the scale is way too small for "real" vehicles.that, and you have to order a minimum of 3-5 yards each time from our supplier:(
    thanks for the comments!!

actually,3 members so far(bigdaddy/greaser/trip-up) and the leader from the sportscar patrol(roadhandler),who in my own far fetched world, now commands the hotrod patrol......and yeah bro,it's all for the sake of fun:thumb

    lolz!!!
    i'll be watching you!!!
    thanks for the comments!
    thanks!!
a crying shame though that the scale is off so much:eek: (next time gadget.....next tiiiiiime!!!)

    thanks!!!

your sense of smell is pretty good mang!!!
i always do try to post the originals, but lately i've been getting lazy to dig up mine,so i just use pics from tfwiki:eek: :D
    thanks again man!!!

lolz!!!plus,if you have a pic or the original beside you as you do the custom,it helps inspire you:)
