Sidearm Sideswipe - Overall nice figure and I never understood why he wasnt more popular - this version does away with the blades and replaces them with a couple of nice pistols which slot tightly into his hands.

Apart from this obvious change there doesnt appear to be much else apart from the doors now being stored to the rear on the backpack which is still chunky but not really a problem. He is nicer in this form with a great degree of poseability due to the arm kibble / blades not being present his however still retain a limited amount of movement at the knee which limits what you can do with his lower half.

Car mode is nice with a new splash of paint to the hood, the panel lining is still highly visible and takes away a little but overall I would score Sidearm Sideswipe 6.5/10 not a essential buy by any means but well worth a punt if you see him out there :)

Horrible paint job and guns do not suit the character.

I love the mold as I always have, but this repaint/retool seems utterly pointless. Plus for someone who was always a bit of a fiddly jigsaw-former in the first place, I'm sure there will be issues of mold degredation by now (ie panels not fitting together, loose joints etc). I may be wrong though.

Generally, I see no point in picking up this figure. Waste of time.

Damnit..was looking forward to this figure, but the red flames ARE horrible, and the back kibble is bigger than I expected. Much bigger..

Personally I do like they replaced the swords with pistols.

it actually looks pretty good, I don't like movie molds though myself.... like the guns and the arms.

I really want to like this figure. The new mold is pretty nice, but I can't get past the red flame deco.

Hmm....I actually prefer the original, as it looks more visually pleasing to me. The guns are nice, however, I would've preferred if they had in someway manage to incorporate the swords as well. And that paint deco really looks out of place there. If he was a nice glossy black, it would've worked a bit better.

Very wrong. This is an entirely new mold.

I think that's the same head and torso as the original, but the back, arms and everything below the thighs is new.

Apart from the red on his car mode, this looks excellent and offers a cool alternative to the original swordsman version. Those feet look a lot more stable and the gunslinger theme is nicely executed.

Definitely not. The figure transforms completely differently than the first one. The arms are the front wheels, the legs have the back wheels. They can't pull that off with the old toolings. The abdomen is definitely different, with wider side wings.

The only reason the chest and head look the same is that it's the same basic design.

Looks good. More red in the design is good. Pistols are good. I'll probably pick it up.

I will likely get this. I consider the flames just an homage to the fact that the character was almost Hot Rod. Also, he does use guns in the movie...they the standard arm-machine guns instead of pistols, but pistols are more stylish anyway.

It would be nice if he had some sort of sword accessory to hold in place of the pistols, but you can't have everything. This will make an excellent counterpart to my Swerve.

Those look like his guns from the DLC Sideswipe in the RoTF game.

Nice, I'm liking the little videogame weapons they're putting into the current figures, we've got Battle blade Bumblebee with his axe from the game, Ironhide with his drone and now Sideswipe with his pistols.

Will be picking this guy up as I love movieverse Sideswipe.

Sadly no :(  the torso still folds into position and the backpack twists on a pivot to sit correctly.

This mold is bought x4 so I can paint em n sell em. I have the actual silver that the car is paint, not to mention that this mold resembles the movie model almost perfectly. Not to mention that maybe, JUST MAYBE, the blades from the HA version could be incorporated to the figure (and no, they aren't to big. They are just to small for the hass)

Oh, just wanted to ask. What are the "pistons" in his groin area made of? Also, the doors should point upwards for the "wings". Just letting ya know :)

    I'll pick him up.

He still seems like a movie-verse drift to me though. IDW - Swords, Movie - gunslinger

We got the original one in red, Swerve, so we just need this one in yellow and boom, similar vehicle mode with different bot mode movie-verse Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.
