I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but I just figured this out and it's pretty awesome. I'm sure there are other figures out there that can do the same. His weapons go into DOTM mectech ports and vice versa.

If this is not news at all I apologize..:cry

I got the mectech weapons that were closest to me and used Crankcases and Shockwaves.

Could make for some interesting combinations..

Standardization: Fooling TF fans into thinking we've discovered the secret of the Quints, one face (or in this case fist) at a time.

Basically Mechtech is just a renamed 5mm plug and hole. Minicons, Mechtech, Seaspray's guns, all work in those appropriately sized holes.

    It's all good.

At least now, we've got more bots to play "Who's in my hole - Transformers edition" with.

Fansproject Blesser/Sidearm does fit in the holes too for DOTM. Also I have the Armada Emergency Team minicon Prowl, who turns into a gun....both look pretty good!

    Haha.

I really hadn't seen any threads regarding this. I guess I should have looked better. I didn't think I discovered anything groundbreaking, I just thought it was neat.

It's ok, and understandable. I recently jumped the gun when I found Stealth Force Starscream and put it in news without realizing it was already found.

It's easy to forget when the gimmick is pushed so hard as something new and exciting that we forget that the plugs are something we've seen since Armada(Earlier I think, but Armada is when I was doing it), pretty much.

    Good marketing, though.

I mean, they make us think that it's totally something new (the moving weapons kinda are, at least for this medium), but then they're still compatible with a lot of our older stuff. That seems like a double win to me.

Definitely. When you really boil it down, Mechtech is sorta like Armada 2.0...but instead of minicons we're plugging into our main figures, they are weapons...and instead of the main figures being gimmick loaded, it is also the weapons.

Hundreds of TFs can use mechtech since it's just 5mm. So it's nothing special if an old figure can use them.

you have got the wrong colored seaspray though....deepdive...is the proper colored one for stealth and dark ops.

I get that they'd work with Deep Dive (possibly better, given the darker colours), but I wouldn't really say that he bought the "wrong one", especially since it probaly came into his possession sooner than the Mechtech weapons did.

Also, who says Seaspray can't be stealth? I mean, who'd expect to get blown all the way to Cybertron by a blue hovercraft?

Ah, see I don't have him. I wasn't trying to make him stealthy or anything. I just had him near me and discovered the mechtechs work. I like Sea Spray's color scheme better anyways.

    He is cool! :D

Yeah, like I said on the first page. Sorry for posting this. It's still relative to the toy board so whatever.

So is so true. and some of the weapons combine, like lazerbeak's. so yeah, that and some of the figures can combine with others like the Bumblebee/HFTD Sunspot combo. i know it aint' combat pant/shirt but hey i cant wait to fiddle around with the line.
