    The words "sell out" being attributed to the movie seems like the absurdity to me.

    The toys HAVE to make money for them to succeed and continue.

    The comics HAVE to make money for them to succeed and continue.

    The movie HAS to make money for it to succeed and continue.

    The first two are acceptable, yet the third is a shabby betrayal (of something or other, I'm not sure) and must be frowned upon?

    The point (dubious as it is) would have been better made if the comic was actually funny.
