YouTube - I am the Walrus - Cover by Aaron Baldwin
thats really sweet. nice job man.
I'm 28, my first record was a 45 of Hello, Goodbye, and I Am the Walrus. I love the Beatles, and this is kinda...lame...sorry!
Thanks for being honest.
If it sucks, it sucks.
i'm going to pretend this doesn't exist. don't get me wrong, it's pretty sweet. i had just always imagined you with a really deep, burly, sexy manly voice; and that you always sounded like you were going to kick whoever's ass you were speaking to.
EDIT: i realize what the last phrase says, but you know what i meant so i'll leave it.
same here, i liked it but i too always though you had a really deep voice.
I have a very wide vocal range - That was me at the beginning of this year's member video:
- also, check out the song "what you make it" on this page to hear me singing in lower registers: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=311123&songID=4008998
fuck yeah! just watch his "I have teeth" video pussy's!
That was awesome man. Even more that you're just doing it for the fun, and not worried about being signed. That's another thing cool about you DC, is that your an extremely busy guy, but you dont let it all destroy your love for all your hobbies.
Next time you get out the guitar, and get some beers, call me up!
don't feel bad for the self promotion. i'm recording a CD at the end of the summer and i'm going to post links to it in here as well.
It's got potential! Perhaps it's the recording quality on youtube, but the mic sounds a bit hot. Perhaps a few more takes with the vocals. Overall it's fun, good job!
Are you using a drum machine? It sounds like you are. If so, what kind?
What editing software are you using?
There's actually blurbs all though the video explaining how everything was done.
And yeah, it's youtube, it totally fucked the recording, it sounds much better on the actual mp3.
Ah, I just listened to it with the window minimized. I'll check it again.
Edit: Ok I watched the video. I really like the orchestra midi work, that is the best part of the song. The vocals are pretty good for the most part. For some reason in two spots it feels like you are playing catch-up, and like I said, it sounds a bit hot in some parts. To me the weakest part is the drums. They are lacking that punch, sound generic and not organic. If I were working on this, I would consider using some break beats, with a bigger sounding bass drum. Just to give it a more modern sound. To me, doing that gives a bit of leeway in using a synth sounding drum loop.
Just FYI, I uploaded another version with slightly better quality audio.
I changed the link in the first post to reflect this.
I thought it was pretty good. Hell of a lot better singing than me, lol.
Wow, that is more like it
People who know me in real life are often surprised at just how "high" I can make my voice.
I like it. It sounded better than the first album that my band recorded...out of a professioal recording studio and you did it from home. Amazing.
Thankyou for sharing!
Great JOB MAN!!! What kind of guitars do you play? Just asking cause Im avid guitar collector and a wannabe rock star someday. My older brother and I play a bunch of open mics on Long Island, have a few shows coming up to raise awareness about cancer and suicide, and of course raising money to help wounded war vets transition back into society, in honor of my friend killed in Iraq. So if your in the New York area and want to play let me know and Ill sign you up for it.
I was just at guitar center and fell in love with a $4000 breedlove northwest custom acoustic. Highly recommend you try one out if you ever get a chance.
Keep Rockin man!
