UPDATED!!!

-remodelled crane mount again...now the extensions mount to the side like Daimchoc suggested...it makes better sense now...
-made the parts in a single SPRUE
-ORDERED!!! Yep, I ordered from Shapeways along with the V2 Predaking set, can't wait...will post pics as soon as they arrive
-I cleaned up the first page, removing old iterations and stuff...

@Furyan: I'm going to have a go at the "Latissimus Dorsi" parts, lolzzz....I've got some cool ideas brewing for them....will get to modelling and start posting ideas...stay tuned.

Looking good, excited to hear how it turned out. Is the crane locker included on that sprue? I didn't see it, and that's a part I'm quite interested in, since the 'official' one doesn't stay on very easily.

@ Gatchaman: standard white, no polish (cheapest option). I'll measure, fit check, sand and paint (hopefully sanding only for paint adhesion). I might try to make a silicone mold for the wing extensions and crane part before painting...

@ Ryanlb: if this is the only part you need, I'll make it available on Shapeways as a standalone once I verify fit. I'll also try to cast it because it is so simple.

@ Daimchoc: you got eagle eyes!

 

I was wondering, how much taller do the leg extentions make Herc? Is it a full inch?

 

16 mm which is ~5/8 ths of an inch... It would be easy to go taller, but I'm keeping a close eye on those proportions. I anticipate we will all get to evaluate them in the pics on an actual Herc and decide if it should be more or less than 16mm...I welcome your input!

 

Guess what arrived many days early!!! (you can see both the Hercules and G1 Predaking sets in the bags...



Within minutes I had them out of the package and cut from the sprue:



I didn't even clean off the powder residue...I was just too stoked to try the fit. (will do that later, the part detail will show much better) Check out Neckbreaker:


It works, it really works. A tiny bit tight, but for a first version I'm really happy with the feel of it...

Unfortunately the crane lock is just a but too shallow, I'll have to fix it for V2. I'll also modify this one...


And heres a teaser of the thighs and wing extensions, also working well mechanically...

Overall with the exception of the lock, total success!!!

Great stuff, cant wait to buy this set, its amazing that the parts worked so well first time out, well done. So when can i buy this, can i just buy a few peices, and finally, how much? I dont have the rage set and dont really plan on buying it so i dont need all of the peices.
