Can we call him the Father of US Transformers?

I mean, if it weren't for him, we'd probably be buying Takara Transformers instead.
Or maybe Takara would not have merged with Tomy.
What if Mattel started making Transformers instead of Hasbro?! *GASP!*

Amazing how one man can change the course of Toy history. And Poker. Props to him for the Card Cameras.:thumb

cool. Wish the article said exactly how he was responsible for transformers.

Does anyone actually rub those stickers? Just holding your finger on it for a few seconds gets the same effect. Seems rubbing would rub the sticker off.

Rubbing or just holding your finger over the rubsign works either way, you can also blow hot air onto it like you would to fog up glasses. I have also noticed many times that warm light and room temps can also cause the rubsigns to self-activate.

He actually shares the patent for the rubsigns with George Dunsay. (Dunsay told me that little fact after I interviewed him in late 2006)

Dunsay also said in the interview that

I think the rubsigns were really a good marketing tool for Hasbro as it aided in its "branding"!

Remember how it wasn't a 'real' Transformer unless it had a rubsign? And then all those 1988 Transformers came out without them? That really threw me when I was a kid...
