Just got him today! I'll cut to the chase. Sorry for the poor lighting and slight grain.

All the goodies laid out. Instructions have WORDS and not just pictures. Fortunately I know Chinese so I can decipher some of the basic Japanese characters.

Zany-looking comic. All Henkeis from here on will have a special comic bundled with the toy. Sorry about my digits, the comic was folded up and stuffed at the bottom, so now it's badly creased. :(

Right page: Autobots gloat over outnumbered Decepticons

Do not understand what's going on, looks like Prowl pulled Sunstreaker over for speeding. And look at that bratty little kid!

Right page: Sunstreaker promises never to speed again (maybe?) Prowl looks unconvinced. :lol
Left page: TakaraTomy shows off it's chrome bits of the Henkei line.

Roll call! And a sneak preview! You totally cannot tell the next ones in line are Sideswipe, Tankor (Octane) and Silverstreak.

Chrome blaster becomes chrome exhaust pipe.

    ...

Transform! Let's hear that G1 transformation sound.

    Tadah.

Above shot taken with flash. Oooooh, shiny!

Overall, very satisfied with the toy. He feels solid and very poseable. Great paint job except for his license plate which looks scraggy and messy. But it could just be my figure.

Can't wait for the upcoming Henkeis! :D

You wouldn't happen to have the original, would you? I wouldn't mind seeing a comparison.

    Alright.

I really like the boxart though, gotta say.

And I'd love to see a proper comparison. That would be the clincher for many, I'm sure, in terms of whether or not he's worth the purchase or not.

Aside from Thundercracker, this is the only Henkei I'm tempted by. The yellow looks deeper than on the Universe version, and the bling bling suits Sunny.

The chrome on this guy actually makes sense to me, except for the spoiler but not a big deal. I'm thinking I'll add some chrome paint to my US Streaker. Thanks for the review and pics, too bad the license plate is crap on yours

Seconded. Thanks for all the nice, clear photos; if a Picture's worth a thousand words, you just dropped a novella on us. You rock, Soli!

Except for the chromey bits, it doesn't look very different to me. Fortunately the chromey bits make sense on this one, which is more than can be said for a lot of Henkeis.

Any chance someone could take a picture of G1, Universe and Henkei Sunstreakers together? I realise this might not happen right away.

I'm totally digging this one. the colors is more deeper & richer than the Hasbro's one. also i thought the little comic looked very cute & well-drawn (no dull surprise!)

Glad I sold off my Hasbro version weeks back. The Henkei ver is definitely a keeper.

You probably didn't open up your Sideswipe, but if by any chance you do, can you take a pic of him with Henkei Sunstreaker? This guy is becoming awfully tempting, and i'd like to see how the twins look together.

effin beautiful!! i'll get him even though i have universe version (henkeis seem to be on sale at BBTS from time to time). did they fix the chest/roof spinning problem. mine had the problem - it doesn't totally turn all the way and to fix it i'll have to take apart the chest. i'd rather just get a henkei version if they fixed it.
