How big do you think Prime should be?

Ok. Let's put a couple things aside. Let's assume that you like both molds quite evenly, and that you don't mind that Faith Leader is a (pretty ok/good) knock-off, and that money isn't too much of an issue, which one would you prefer?

The reason I ask is mainly to argue size. I can't seem to decide how tall I like my Prime to be for my CHUG display. I've seen at times other autobots (just the average ones, not minis) being at about Prime's shoulder height, and other times being at around abdomen height. Looking at some G1 images and even watching a few episodes (not the best source because of all the inconsistencies) has left me even more undecided. So how tall would you like your autobot leader to be?

 

Henkei Convoy is the Prime in my collection. I think he's perfect, especially with the FP G3 trailer.

 

Nemesis Leader next to Henkei Prime. (Dont have Faith Leader.   )

 

Henkei Prime is amazing. I mean REALLY amazing. Even though I don't have Faith Leader I would say get Henkei Prime without a doubt. There are few versions of Prime better than him, especially for a CHUG display.

Here's my current set-up. I moved him to the front here.


My older set-up had Prime a little in the background. He seems to get a little lost because of his size.


And here are some images I found. Normal bots seem to be about shoulder height to Prime here.


This older image seems to make the average bots like Jazz, Prowl, Mirage, etc. to be a lot shorter, which causes my dilemma.


So, how proud and tall should the Prime be?

Henkei Prime hands down. I think he's the best representation of Prime all around, even if not my favorite. But for the cost, durability, and play factor, he cannot be beat.

Henkei Prime/Convoy all the way & also cost-wise it would definitely be more cheaper than faith leader (pls correct me if I'm wrong here).

either works. Henkei convoy is the best legit convoy but faith leader is phenomenal. They are both pretty common.

I think Henkei Convoy is a fine representation in with the classics, sure he could use a little height, but he is still tall enough to stand out, and is a very solid figure. Plus all the FP add-ons for him make him a must in my classics display.

I do not have Faith Leader, and as much as I am on the fence about weather I like what iGear is doing or not, I think it will look amazing if we end up getting a few more MP autobots. As great as MP Prime is, he (and megs) are huge compared to the other MPs. Only real thing holding me back is all the other cool shit coming down the pike in the next few months and a lack of dollars to go around. Gonna be really tough to start passing when the coneheads are released.

 

Wow nice setup & I spotted a few interesting stuf on this pix, there's a Huffer, a custom deluxe Jazz & two small tiny figurines which could be Spike & his dad.

Henkei, obviously. The other one is just an insanely priced knock off.

 

I like both but I don't get people using Faith Leader with their Classics displays. He does not look Classics to me.

He looks Masterpiece so he should go with the Masterpieces.

If I had a gun to my head and had to pick one, I'd still pick Henkei. Just an awesome mold.

 

If MP Grimlock is gonna be your Grimlock, then Faith Leader. That way he kinda fills in the gap size-wise and doesn't make Grimmy look so out of place. Otherwise, Henkei. Faith Leader alone is still too big without other big bots around to help him fit in.

 

Thanks for noticing!   And you're right, that is Spike and Sparkplug. I even forget they're there sometimes because they're so small.

Good point. I guess this was sorta the answer I was looking for. I was trying to put aside the fact that they're different molds, one's a ko, etc. Sizewise, it seem that most prefer the Classics sorta voyager size?
