starscream is what ive been waiting for forever ....... but his paint job is sloppy on his guns....and the back of his head isnt even black....is everyone elses like this? oh well....on to optimus prime henkei...hope its better...
The back of his head isn't colored for a reason. Turn him into a jet and look at the nose of the plane. It's designed to blend the head in more as opposed to the way it stands out on the US release. At least, I'm assuming that's why it's left unpainted. If not, that's a neat unintenional side effect. I've seen a lot of people complain about the quality of him, but mine seems just fine.. paint's applied well on mine.. my only real complaint with him is those chrome rings on the guns just look out of place. Henkei Convoy though is *spectacular*. Improves the already fantastic Classics Prime about threefold. The hinge where his roof/gun/shield thing is a little loose on mine, but other than that he's terrific.
Mine has no issues whatsoever. Initially i was thrown off by the unpainted back of the head, but it doesn't bother me anymore. And yes, it was unpainted so the nose of the jet would be uniform in alt mode. Wanna see sloppy paint apps, then you should see my Hasbro SS... good lord.
i've only got the 3 original 'cons (cuz so far no one else has been different enough/better enough to justify the import prices) but i LOOOOOOOOVE them. Megatron and Astrotrain are amazing and Starscream is what he shoulda been from the get-go!
i want hot rod, megatron, prime, and bumblebee with no means to pay for them.... regardless of sloppy paint jobs
Starscream rocks in my opinion. Quite worth the 25$. I really want Rodimus too. My only complaint with Screamer is his chrome blasters.
Yeah, I had purchased a Henkei Bumblebee and it was atrocious. The windshield was cracked, the roof paint job was sloppy and too light as well. It didn't seem as well put together either or of good quality at all. Very disappointing but I should've known better.
From my limited experience with them, Henkei is about 25% "Awesome", 50% "Take or leave", and 25% "I'm not sure what they were thinking here." Adding on, I have Henkei Prime, Megatron, Mirage, and Astrotrain. Astrotrain is "Awesome". Megatron is good, especially to those who value the G1-ness, but looking at Henkei vs. Classics without the geewun fog, neither looks better than the other to me. Prime and Mirage have some of the most logical chrome usage, but both look rather dull to me compared to their Hasbro counterparts.
I got Henkei Megs, Starscream and Astrotrain, and all are mighty fine! Sure some have a little paint blotch here and there maybe, but it's the kind of thing you have to expect, and none are distracting anyway. On Starscream it's actually neat that they left the back of the head gray, and that they painted over the blue arm to blend it in jet mode! Chrome shoul be optional and left for when it suits the figure though, not forced on every one of them.
Got Prime, Megs, Mirage, Starscream and Hot Rod. IMO they are ten times better than their hasbro counterparts. Megatron is by far the most impressive.
i have henkei bb, astro, classic grimmy & jetfire. i prefer henkei because the colour scheme is more g1-like and the chrome element are nice on some of the them. but so far i have no QA probs with either my henkei or classic.
the only henkei I will have would be Thundercracker (September) and Ratchet (unless the Hasbro version comes out by November)
