All the pictures I've seen show the Hasbro version...is he the same, have we not seen pics yet, or am I just missing them?

Pretty late in the game to not know what a March release would look like.

That only shows dinosaur mode. I can't seem to find pics of the robot mode myself.

It's safe to assume it will be much like the Universe one, but with gold chrome..I think if they would have gone with a more accurate paintjob, this would have been reflected in dinosaur mode as well, and that one's different from the cartoon as well..

Are we looking at the same pictures here?

That looks as close to a show-perfect raptor mode as you could get with this mould; moreover, looking at the exposed parts around his legs and feet, you can see the colouration is an equally accurate brown-gold and deep blue, rather than the Universe version's mustard yellow and purple.

Thanks for flagging this up, by the way; I somehow missed this when it first came out, but now I see it I feel vindicated in my decision to wait for Henkei on this guy. The mould is great, but the Henkei paintjob makes it perfect. :D

Well, Dinobot's show model is technically that light color with lots of brown stripes. The toy is dark brown with lots of light stripes. However, if not for the realities of toy-making, I'm sure the Henkei would be more patterned like the show. But I'd say they did the best they could with what they have to work with, as far as paint applications and what plastic can be what color.

There's a pic of him in the TF Generations 2009 Vol. 1 book! :)

There appears to be no chrome on Dinobot, but his crotch and thigh area seem to have a metallic finish. Maybe it's just very nice looking Hasbro/TakTomy stock photos though. Pics and final product have a sneaky way of being very different :mad

It's just the Hasbro version. I'm guessing the book had to be printed before an actual Henkei Dinobot could be ready. Meanwhile they've got a Hot Shot to use, which leads to the continued confusion over why the hell we haven't seen Dinobot while we've seen every non-exclusive Henkei figure scheduled after him.

Yes, on looking at the Henkei pics of Dinobot in Dino mode, I realized that they used Hasbro pics. I can't read Japanese, but I'm guessing it's disclaimed somewhere in the write up that the pics are the TFU version? Maybe not.

A little off topic, but I'm curious to know why TakTomy decided to give him the Maximal faction "by default", whereas Hasbro had him packaged as a Predacon.

Thats the Hasbro Universe version (strangely enough). I'm sure they wont show the semi show accurate version at a toy show then use the Universe version for mass production.

I'm going to have to wait for the Takara one. March cant come fast enough..

Hasbro seemed to want Dinobot as a Predacon so there would be one hero and one villain for Beast Wars series.

Look carefully, it's just the universe version. I'm pretty sure that the one shown at the toy show will be what we shall get.

(happy I preordered the Henkei version :) )
