Just a little something I cooked up to give us an idea of what to expect from Takara's release.





As expected, the paint jobs are modeled as close to the animation models as possible. I replaced Cyclonus' G1 toy colours with his cobalt/indigo/violet colour scheme. Hound is a much darker green, sports his shoulder stars, and rearranged colours on his arms. (Considering what Takara did for Henkei Ironhide, there's a high likelihood this last point will come to pass.)

There's still no telling if the obligatory chrome will detract from the overall aesthetic. Feel free to guess where it will be. The real question is, now that you see what Henkei Cyclonus and Hound will probably look like, will you stave off the Universe release and save your money for Takara's toys?

 

To be honest, both of 'em look a little boring.

 

Nope. I've been doing fine with the Hasbro versions so far... why stop now? Powerglide was the only one I was really tempted, but the US one turned out fine.

 

Where's the random chrome?

 

Personally, I'll be sticking with the Hasbro versions. The blandness and total slavishness to G1 color schemes combined with the completely randome use of chrome, completely ruin Takara's versions, imo. That and it's just plain easier for me to get the Hasbro versions.

 

The Hound is exactly what I'm hoping Takara will do (don't think they'd add stars though) as I hate the neon green of the Hasbro version. I'm sure his cannon would be chromed too. I'm perfectly happy with the Hasbro Cyclonus though. I like the G1 toy colors more.

 

I want to have sex with those toys.*


























































*This is not a KR moment, so not real intercourse, but they are absolutely awesomely beautiful, IMHO. No actual sexual attraction involved. It was just an allusion. Get over it. Okay, I'm done.  

 

Yummy looking. I'll be getting both Hasbro and Takara versions when they are eventually released.

I expect Henkei Cyclonus will have that lighter 'animation' purple. Not sure what they'd chrome on him - the wings? the whole targetmaster?

Your Hound looks about like I'd expect from Henkei. I think the weapon would probably be chromed at least.

 

They're cool and all but I'm also in the "I like the Hasbro ones enough" group

 

i'll support hasbro, its way easier for me to get them. I can just be at work and see them and buy them when i get off. And yes that does look like a real face on hound

As I'm now collecting Henkei (no more Classics!), then I will definitely be picking up Cyc and Hound from Japan.

 

Definitely will get Cyclonus.
While for Hound, errr... just for the Ravage.

 

Maybe the winch will be chromed as well.

 

Henkei Cyclonus will probably have purple chrome like Astrotrain and an almost lavender deco like the PVC.

 

argh if Henkei Hound does look like that I'd so buy it -__-'

 

In this case i'm hoping for the henkei hound to be the color of the g1 toy.

 

My Hound collection is growing I am glad to see Hasbro/Takara giving love to some other autobot instead of the standard few.
