    Hey guys,

Introducing the fourth installment of my henkei series. Bumblebee. His colour is a mix of yellow and orange. Not too sure how many percent of each. Just mixed till I got something that I like.

Also, sorry that I didnt attach many images. Cant seem to upload them. Kept on hanging my browser.

    well again Sab, looking great!

Now I gotta ask, whjat paint are you using? Not that I plan to switch from tamiya, just curious. And the sheen, is that gloss, or is it in the paint already?

    Well, keep em comin.

I believe the paint is Tamiya clear (insert colour here) + Mr Hobby Silver. Or at least, it makes a similar effect.

Awesome Henkei Bumblebee. I'm just not a fan of the black bumper. I don't know if it's the pic, but it just makes the bumper look ridiculously oversized. Maybe it looks better in person.

    The Wave Crusher rocks. :thumb

Hey. Ahah. I'm using Spaz, Mr hobby and Tamiya paints hand in hand. The sheen is from the gloss that I am using. Probably the paint had a part in it too. But I had to polish all the smooth surfaces like mad with compounds before it starts to look more reflective.

Oh hey, thanks for filling it in. By the way, are Tamiya and Hobby paints there easily available? It's very very good paints. Smells like crap though but good nonetheless.

interesting color choice. I do love the sheen, though! you can always add attachments at a later date, btw. I went ahead and made the one attachment you actually had show up fullsize (right-click FTW!).

The gloss is amazing, but the color is ...goldbug.
Surely you have plain metallic yellow in your arsenal...

Looks awesome though, there's one shot on your flickr of him mid-transformation that the glare on the wheel well is just WOW

Well, no point in me answering. I'm in australia; nothing is easily available. ;)  No, i happen to have a store near me (an hour away) that sells these. And most colours too.

I've been trying this technique, but i just can't seem to get that sheen. If i had the money...

    Oh, and, nice Goldbug. :D

Oh dear. I'm sad that you guys think that it looks more gold than yellow. I mixed yellow and orange as my original TFTM bumblebee sometime back was painted in plain clear yellow and many commented that it looked too gold. Well, I'm just sad that I didnt manage to get the correct colour that captures G1 Bumblebee yet again :(

If it helps any, are you using mr hobby clear yellow over metallic silver? Coz i tried it with my Race Exertion Vehicle, and i found that too much of it will create gold.

I applied it with a brush, and found that you have to spread the paint as far as possible before using more paint. Basically, apply sparingly, really sparingly, to get yellow.

Mind telling us how to get that sheen? :D

Well, like I mentioned, I use compounds for flat surfaces after ever layer of paint. From coarse, to fine and finish. Top it with gloss.

Anyway, u were saying, I'm not very fond of brushes as the effects are not comparable to airbrushing.
