I just installed GeForce 6600 DDR 256 MB AGP 8X card in my computer. I can not see the text on the strat screen(new game, load and so on) when I load a game. I was just wondering if anyone had this problem before or knows a way to fix it. Thank you for any help.

That's not a lot of info to go on. What game? Any game? And like TT said, newest drivers?

Did you remove the old video card drivers before you installed the new one? If not that could cause some problems.

I have the latest drivers. I tryed Lego SW2 and Vampire: The Masquerade. I am at work right now so I can not get a screen shot but I will later. when I load a game everything loads find the cinema at the begining of the game run good but when it gets to the screen to start a new game or load a saved game I can not see the text. I know it is there because I can exit out of the game using the quit button.

Try a higher resolution setting? Same deal when I switched from a 6800GT to a 7900GT video card.

I agree with the resolution thing, also check for game patches. Try running dxdiag and see if that gives you any clues.

I would start with the game, then the computer.

Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately nothing worked. I think there is a conflict between my mother board and video card.

Did you previously have onboard video? Did you make sure to turn it off in the BIOS and remove the drivers for it?

Maybe the new video card is bad. Can you return it and try another?

I'm running out of ideas here.

I tryed all of that. My father has just about the same video card in his computer so I put his in my computer and still had the problem. I also found out it is not just games. Anything with a tab to click on and a dark background dose not show up.

Now that you mention it, I had a problem like that a while back. I took me awhile to figure it out, but I think it had to do with the video card drivers being installed badly.

You could try removing ALL the video drivers, REBOOT, and then try reinstalling the ones for your card. This can be harder than it sounds; some of those drivers get buried deep. There are freeware programs out there that will uninstall all of the drivers for you, just search for a "driver uninstaller" program.

I'd check out the help forums for your video card maker. That has helped me on several occasions.
