    Hey everyone!

Got a bunch of these with the autobot / decepticon logos on them but they're a lil different than I thought.

First glance, they look like regular stickers but they're not just peel off's. They have a solid / uncut clear top cover and the individual decals under that on a another solid / uncut cover.

Long story short, tried to peel them off till I realized it was a solid top sheet, then I peeled back the top sheet but that is making them tear. It was late at night so I just set it aside but was thinking today how best to tackle this. Anyone else use these? Do you cut the individual decal off the main sheet, peel the back, apply and then peel the clear top off?

Never thought a set of stickers would make me scratch my head but eh...whatever. They look awesome once you get one on but getting it off both sheets to apply has to be the wrong way.

    Thanks for the advice!

They sound like dry transfer decals. I just did MP Wheeljack with their dry transfer labels, someone on here created a great video showing exactly how to put them on. I'll see if I can find it.

Ah. Those guys are dry transfers. You leave them on the transfer sheet, put them in place and then rub them down on to the surface from that top cover, pushing them off the bottom of that clear top cover onto the surface you're applying them to.

Y'know it's not a bad idea to watch one of the YouTube videos on doing it. Just search dry transfers how to and you 'll see. It can take bit more effort and work up front to really do it right, but the results are WAY better than a regular sticker.

That'd be cool. They're very sticky on the back but super thin. That's why I'm questioning my approach to putting these on.

I looked for one for Ocean brand decals but couldn't find a video. Didn't realize that's what I was dealing with though so I prob skipped ones for other brands. :/

Cut the individual sticker away from the rest. Remove the back. Place sticker where you desire. Rub/firmly press the sticker in place. Remove top film carefully. If the sticker starts coming off with the top film lay it back down and repress.

Yup that's them! Thanks alot...I suspected that's what they were after messing with them but it's nice to be sure. Video had some great tips too :)

I can't imagine doing a whole bot of those...that'd make me crazy. Glad I'm just doing faction ones only.

Thank you guys for the help...it's appreciated!

Why is this in 3rd party discussion? Ocean Designs' labels are officially licensed as far as I'm aware.

Probably my fault. Wasn't sure where to post it and assumed since I used them for 3rd party I posted it here.

I believe Ocean Designs and Eness are the same companies. Eness do a lot of stickers for 3P figures.

There's no way they're licensed. I can't believe that they licensed all those car company logos for the Wheeljack set and also the Marlboro logo too. These aren't from Japan, but from China or the rest of asia and Hasbro Asia didn't even release Exhaust there due to Philip Morris. There's just no way they'd just OK the use of their logo for stickers.

Well, they claim to be licensed, at least:

It's possible they're bullshitting, or maybe Hasbro Asia gives less of a toss about those kinds of technicalities.

Yeah I have them too so I know they say Hasbro on them, it just is weird. If they didn't give a fuck, why didn't they just release Exhaust then?

Is there a way to tell which sets are dry rub and which are just stickers?

The clear and white-bordered ones are dry transfer. The metallic ones are just stickers. You can tell by the pre-cut look of the stickers.

Is there a set of Exhaust stickers that are regular stickers that you don't have to cut?

Is Ocean Designs still producing their dry-rub decals? They are sold out at BBTS. Can anyone recommend another retailer, or an alternative product? I need Autobot/Decepticon faction insignias for my FansToys dinobots & insecticons.

I just got these Ocean Designs white backed dry transfer Decepticon decals from a seller named johosontony on eBay. Not bad if you don't mind waiting a bit to get them, but at least the shipping was free. He also offers lots of other types on his eBay store (metallic, water transfer, clear backed, etc.)

If you were curious how they look I posted some pics in the Despotron thread
