I've checked Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS, and BJ's doesn't even sell 70. I don't have a costco membership and I don't really know any chemists. To those who have, could you please tell me where I can get this stuff in the US?

Did you try asking for it at the prescription counter, it's sometimes kept behind there.

You can get 91% at Walmart. It's always worked for me.

Yes, I should have been more specific. I tried the pharmacy at all three drug stores.

TTT, you said it's at Costco, but you're in canada. Do you or anyone else know if Costcos state side carry it?

I've found 91% still lacking on some paintjobs. Most recently I've been working on removing the paint on the Clone Commander Cody Turbo Tank and had to rub forever with cotton to get some of it off. I'd like to know where to find some 99% myself.

I'm the only one who has faith and loves online shopping? c'mon! the price is cheaper than the store, and shipping would be 3 days.

91% is way cheaper and sometimes you just need to let it sit or rub a little harder too. I'd be scared to see what 99 can do.

I've never found 99% in stores either, not even at Costco (and yes, I asked behind the counters too). My gf works in a chemical lab though so I can get it for free from there (YOINK!) but none of the pharmacies around here stock it at all. NONE!

Theoretically, I imagine that one could increase the alcohol content by removing the water content...how, I do not know.

Stupid question but does this work as a sort of paint thinner?

not really. it will break down factory paint, and typically will safe on most plastics, where-as paint thinner, will break down the plastic and pull the factory finish off unpainted areas.

You misunderstood. I asked if it would work as a sort of paint thinner, didn't say it would do the same thing (i.e. breaking down plastics) as paint thinner.

oh. i don't think so. It water based I'm pretty sure, so it wouldn't mesh with the oils/thinners in enamel.

It might blend and thin acrylic...but why would you do that?

Well, what would he be using it for? Factory paint or custom?
