Help Removing pin?

    Does anyone know how to remove this pin? It is located in the legs of sideswipe.

    a cold soder gun will probably do the trick! Radio Shack should have them.

    ....CAREFUL not to melt the plastic, pull as you heat.

    yep, that's a rivet. a rivet you will need heat to remove. Check out our Pin Removal tutorial in our tutorials forum.

    Is there any other way to remove those rivets without heating them up?

    and no...I believe heat is used to put them into place.

    Actually, I have removed that one before without heating it up.


    IIRC, that pin didn't have a completely flat head. I was able to get a hold of it with a pair of hobby size needle nose pliers. Basically, grab ahold of the pin with the pliers. Try and pull the pin straight out while twisting it at the same time. It took a long time and was a pain in the ass.


    Give it a try. If you can't get it then I'd also suggest heating it up. It makes it so much easier.

    True, Brute Force is always an option! Especially if you are LOBO.
