    Hey everyone-

im trying to help my friend figure out what he has.

it's definitely not diaclone, there was never a black f-15 and it would have a copyright.

it looks like a late release american g1 to me, it has the blunt tip main wings, black rubber nose (so its not mexican), and the fists are tabbed. i just can't figure out why there is no copyright, im at my girlfriend's now so i can't look at my skywarp, is the copyright on the legs or somewhere else?

the only thing i can figure out from this picture he sent me is that the copyright was sanded or worn off:

At first I thought it might be the e-hobby reissue but the tip looks wrong. Then I saw this http://www.cliffbee.com/reviews/skywarp.php and it looks pretty close.

If that's it, it says it's a diaclone recolor of Starscream and Thundercracker. Still, it should have a copyright date.

What you have is a transition. This came out after Diaclone and before they changed the mold to include the stamping. I have a Starscream that is the same way. The rudders and wings should not be hollow if you have the correct ones. Not a very wanted piece but definately hard to find.
Man, I have too much useless knowledge floating around in my head......

    Hey Jason, wassup bro!

Diaclone F15s did NOT have copyrights, and the very early run of US Transformers jets which were still using Diaclone moulds for the most part do not have copyrights either.

I have a Thundercracker with no copyright, SANDED wings to make them safety-compliant with US laws (they did not have enough time before the first wave of TF release to mould rounded wing tips instead of sharp diaclone wingtips, so they manually sanded them down).

I've written about that a little here:

thanks a lot maz and megamus! my friend bought this at a toy show so it looks like an early release body mixed w/ rub sign parts, ill have him see if the wings have the hollow area or not.

lol, maz those sanded main wings are HILARIOUS!!!! very nice find and great work on the in depth article with extremely rare content. oh man, those prototype pictures, so cool!

Wow, that was an informative article. I had never previously seen the prototype wings on Dirge and Ramjet. Actually, I think shortening Dirge's was a good idea, but Ramjets definitely looked better long.

I remember how shocked I was when i saw most of those pictures too. I should have enough to write a nice xtension to that article pretty soon, equally jaw-dropping pictures man.

Also, Brett was pretty much spot on with his description, but I disagree about their desireability. If your Skywarp had all the correct parts and stuff I'd be very interested! But then I collect stuff others won't :p

    All the best

hey maz, i think i asked you VIA email before but are devvi and artfire still around?

looking forward to these mysterious new seeker jet pictures, your site is quickly becoming my stop over for reading up on interesting variants. going to work on a re-launch of my KO site soon with all my new stuff and an actual domain, lol.

i'm sure you've seen these but these stripped down seekers are pretty cool:

Actually I hadn't seen those, and they do look great!! Tag does a lot of that on his site doesn't he? The custom Convoys are cool as well.

Devvi dips in and out but Artfire is long gone.

I can't wait for your new site man, I still visit the old one.

    All the best
