So, I picked up my MP-05 from the display shelf yesterday, and the light feature of his fusion cannon wasn't working. I was a bit surprised, since I hadn't used the feature much, but I figured the factory batteries must have been faulty or something.

I bought a new set of batteries today, and it's still not working. :thumbdown

Is there a safe way to take the fusion cannon apart so I can check if there's a loose contact or something? I'd like to reiterate the point that he's been on display the whole time, with his light off, and I only used it a couple of times anyway.

Hmmmm, I managed to take it apart, but everything seems to be in order (at least as far as I can see). Mayber it's the LED itself?

Probably, it's not that uncommon to get a bad LED. I think Radio Shack carries them, although I don't know how much they cost.

LED lights shouldn't cost a lot.

Great. Now I need to find a place here (in Belgrade, Serbia) which sells red LEDs. Or maybe I'll get a purple one instead?

Do they make purple LEDs? I thought they only came in green, red and blue. Purple would be cool.

Yup. I've seen purple LEDs used in computer cases.

I have a question...will the batteries leak? Especially for MISB Megs?
