I'm trying to remember a saturday-morning show from the 1990's. It was live action, and (I think) set in a post-apocalyptic future, covered in desert. The main characters all had high-tech gear and weapons, the big baddy was a cyborg, and his main henchman was some sort of robot human/pterodactyl with a disintegrator beam for an arm.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future

I loved this when I was a kid. Thought it was awesome that the toys had interactive episodes.

    Power on!

Thanks, and yikes, things really did look better as a kid.

True, for some reason my childhood mind thought the CGI bird-bot moved seamlessly and blended in with the environments perfectly :lol

Then again, I could say the same about BW S1's CGI, UC.

Written By Babylon 5's J Micheal Straczyinski. It was actually written pretty serious for being a kids show. To get around death, they digitized the victims.

didn't this have a toy line where you interacted with a video. If you didn't dodge enough enemy fire blasts your plane would eject the pilot or something?

    *checks article*
    indeed it was..

I had the hero and his jet thing, my brother had the bad guy and his throne thing and our parents would get mad when we where trying to play along with the show with the toys making all sorts of awesome sounds while they where trying to sleep. I might have the VHS tapes the toys came with still hidden away somewhere.

    Power on!

I really liked the show as a kid, and had a bunch of the figures. A few months ago, when I was reminded of it, I checked eBay and got the Phantom Striker Jet and the 3 VHS combat tapes for $1. Had a bunch of fun with it for a few days.

I also found the series online, and it certainly hasn't aged well, but it can still be enjoyed.
