I just picked up my starscream from walmart (I got it online with site-to-store) and I opened it up and half transformed it. I see a little white stress mark from attempting to fold the wings down once. Does anyone have like a video of shaving off the plastic or something? I searched and found pictures, but I'm still not completely certain and 60% sure is not enough for me to put old SS under the knife. I would love a video, but detailed pics and descriptions would be nice. Also, how can I make it so that the clear orange windows of the cockpit don't leave a gap between it and the rest of the nosecone? Thanks.
just slide the cockpit forward, the piec that you can swing upwards is usually just not quite in the right position if you have a gap. nothing to really "fix" for that. as for the shaving, there's no more detail to add to the pictures already out there. all you're doing is making a gap there in front and behind that black piece of plastic the wings fold over with. you see the cracks, just shave them so they're wider.
I really need pics..... O.K. , so in bot mode, with the wings positioned correctly and with his back facing me, I want to shave the little black rectangle that is facing me AND the side parallel to this side that touches the glossy metal on Starscream's back. Right?
hold him so you are looking at him from his feet (like a person would be looking up while lying down next to his feet) with the wings folded up for robotmode, shave the gap above and below the black piece. not the actual blackpiece side of the gaps though, shave the grey plastic that is rubbing against it.
man, there's pictures already on this site. there have been since before you ever made this thread. use the search function. (near the top of every page of the board) just search starscream
found the thread. SO if the black connector is vertical [] Then I would shave the top and bottom of the black connector, right? I keep thinking that shaving the left and right sides in the diagram, would help take off pressure more than the top and bottom. So I'm going to shave the top and bottom when I get an xacto knife tomorrow.
OK, thanks. From what I read, some people were shaving the black connectors and others were shaving the actual wing part that surrounds the connector.
I think most people have shaved the connector so Ill just do that I guess. I'll take any warnings before I do it later tonight.
I think everybody on this board will be glad to hear that I finally got the balls to perform surgery on MP SS. It still felt a little tight, but I shaveed what I could get to by removing the black metal frame and SS has no noticeable stress marks. This thread can now die peacefully.
