I hope the bosses let me take a day or two off for the summer. I would like to use them to do an extended weekend. The choices have been narrowed down to Philadelphia, Boston, or Washington D.C.

Which should I pick and why? :D

I've been to all three a few times. There's nothing that special about boston save its history. Boston is so full of construction (for the past 15 years) though that it's always a big mess that keeps changing with each visit. I'd say go to philadelphia or washington dc. I'm not sure how different DC is now. When I went I got to go into all of the buildings including the white house, fbi, and mint but I'm not sure if you can do that now. It's a great place to see monuments, smithsonian, government buildings, and the city is set up in a nice fashion. Philadelphia also has a lot of nice sites though and a rich historical background, being the country's first capital and all (rev war).

Had I not been to any of the above before I'd probably see the places in the order of D.C., Philadelphia, and then Boston. You should set up a poll or something.

    Pssh. No Austin? :rolleyes2  ;)

Been to DC and Boston, but not Philly. Both Boston and DC were great for historical blahbittyblah and bar/club hopping, but both times I was being guided by someone intimately familiar with the area.

Given a choice, I'd probably go to DC again before Boston, but then, I was in Boston for almost two weeks, DC for like 4 days. I had to cram a lot of sightseeing and drinking in a short span.

You mean ... people would CHOOSE to go to Texas?

I lived in Houston for five years, but I have no reason to go back. The Governor done pardoned me, I'm free, I'm out of Shawshank.

Philly. Lots to see & do, & Yes there's nudie bars. You can hang out with me. And you don't have to fly or take a long drive. Just an hour and a half away.

My opinions of cities are based entirely on movies I've seen. As a result, Texas and its cannibalistic chainsawing families are off-limits.

Yeah, definitely come to Boston. Great city. Although we have been getting a bit of rain, it is suppose to be nice for the next few days, if you're traveling this weekend.

Depends on your budget. But if you're into camping visit Cathedral Grove near Victoria BC on Vancouver Island. But I'd watch out for those ferries. I hear they've been having problems with them. Although, nothing bad seemed to happen the two times my family and I travelled on them.

If you go to Philly, bring another Japanese Bruticus box set for TOM's little boys. They each need one!

I'd also recommend steering clear of Fargo. It's like the movie, only it's deadly because it's so boring.
