Hey guys. I'm VERY sure this doesn't go here, but I figured you Radicons would know better than anyone else.

I want to open up Mixmaster from my ROTF Devastator so he'll shut up. But I want to keep his lights, just not the sound. Is this possible? I haven't opened him up yet, as I had hoped one of you swell guys might have some experience with this sort of thing, that is, getting Mixmaster to STFU.

Thanks in advance. Mods, if you want to move this to another section, please do, and my apologies if you have to.

Well i don't own supreme devastor, but what i get (in theory) is that what you need to do is crack mixmaster open, locate the speaker, and simply snip the wires leading to it! I could be wrong... it may not be that straight forward.

all you got to do is cut the connections to the speakers by either de-soldering them or just snipping the wires.

if you snap them, put tape over it to prevent shocks

There are two wires, black and red...

    Any ideas on which one?

If you are referring to two wires leading from the speaker, one is positive and one is negative...

disconnecting either will result in the opening of the circuit and thus stopping the sound.
In my experience with cars, whenever you work on the car, you disconnect the negative battery cable before you work.
So, if this were to hold true for this application...

    Cut the black one.

Anyone feel free to correct my judgement. I'm probably wrong.

Oh and i would be a good idea to tape the cut ends to prevent shock(as mentioned before.)

Listen to Squawktalk. And when you break the circuit, if that kills the lights, then disconnect the red wire and attach it to the black, thus re-connecting the circuit, and by-passing the speaker.

And yeah, cover any exposed wire. A couple AA aren't going to kill you, but it is an exposed wire.

We weren't talking about just cutting random wires, but the wires to the speaker. thats easy to find and do.:)

Squawktalk is absolutely correct. Cut the black wire - then tape off the end. You won't effect the light gimmick of the figure. Really isnt much more than that, ya know?

There's a peg on the back of the cement mixer that pegs into a hole on the bottom. If you look in there you can see the switch that activates the transformation sounds. Cut off the peg and glue it down into the hole. This should stick him in robot mode.

If he's still making robot sounds whenever you look at him too hard, take one of the batteries out then put it back in. I don't know why this works, but it should get the sounds to only work when you open his mouth.

Only cut the peg off; it's not involved in the transformation other than the sound gimmick. What the peg is sitting on however, is the only thing keeping the back of the cement mixer in place.

christ you guys are way over-complicating this.

    1. open the rear cab of mixmaster. the speaker is right behind those fake "gears"

    2. rip the damn thing out of there. its only 2 white wires. who needs wire cutters.

    3. reassemble.

    lights still work on mine.
