Have you ever had to have someone's help on transforming a Transformer and was it by a review, a demonstration video, instructions, a near-by person, anything/anyone?

Mainly when I get some older figure from a yard sale or flea market. Just watch a youtube video, mainly Peaugh to find out how it transforms. If he does not have it, then I just check out other channels for help.

Pretty sure I went online to view ROTF Mixmaster's transformation before I attempted it on my own. I've done it with others too, but mostly before I've owned the figure.

When I first got into collecting, my cousin had to assist me in transforming HFTD Terradive. The damn nose got stuck.

Back in 1985 a friend of mine had Grimlock, and I really wanted to check him out, so I said: "Oh, I can transform him no problems..."
Had him in my hands, and i got pretty far but when i thought I was done, he still looked pretty weird. My friend pulled him out of my hands and had to show me how to push up Grimlock's chest...

Some of the instruction sheets for the DotM figures have been almost impossible to read as they are so unclear, so half the time I just resort to a video review instead.

I've had issues with steps in the instructions that are skipped. I mistransformed Dead End for the longest time, screwing up his backback because two tiny little flaps need to move up to l let it sit nicely. The boards here and watching reviewers like Peaugh are helpful in those sorts of situations.

While I see the fun in it, I never attempt to transform something for the first time without looking at least at the general transformation process. It can be real easy to break something if you improvise while pulling and bending certain parts that -look- like they take some force to change when actually they aren't supposed to.

I will say that I allow my friends to supervise and help while I transform their toys, but that's to ensure I don't break someone else's property.

Figures that I own, I dive right into them. ALWAYS. I look at the alt and robot mode photos at best. Instructions go in their respective generation bins, never opened.

Yeah, I have watched video reviews plenty of times to make sure I got it right.
