I'm not much a DS guy (did you stop reading right there? :)  ) but I got to play a neat mystery game called Hotel Dusk - Room 215. It's a noir themed adventure game. It's kinda played like Shadow Gate, or Myst but that's sort of stretching it. You can probably find it for cheapo in the bargin bins now.

    You just saved a kitten.

    Be proud :thumb

Oh and despite the annoyance, the Lost Sanctum quests are pretty fun.

As a VERY casual RPGer, will I enjoy Chrono Trigger? I've just gotten a DS and never seen such a unanimous vote for Chrono Trigger....

Phoenix Wright, Ace att... uh... I mean... yeah. Chrono Trigger is good. FFIV is good too, so I'd recommend picking that up eventually, too.

Chrono Trigger is one of the greatest SNES era RPGs ever made and it easily outshines most other games. It's a fast and fluid RPG with fun characters, excellent music, arguably the best turn based battle system ever, and the story still stands up as being suitably different to most other things out there.

Hotal Dusk is Pure win, The only reason I still own a DS. But if I had to choose between pokemon and Chrono, first I wouldn't because Chrono would be the only choice :)

Hmm, so since no one recommended Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, I guess Chrono Trigger blows it away?

    I like Phantom Hourglass....

As I am also addicted to the crack known as Chrono Trigger, I must insist that you buy a large back and smoke accordingly.

Or buy the game and play it.
