I was trying to get my day's supply of nostalgia by transforming my Superbase Optimus when I tried to move his elbow and -KRAK!- the lower joint broke. Does anyone know how to fix it? :cry

Note: As far as I gather from the wiki, this isn't GPS. I think it may have been due merely to how tight the joint was. (VERY)

For a joint like that you're probably going to want to use epoxy. I'm sure a Radicon will pop in here and give you some better advice on what type of adhesive to use.

I dunno... I see what looks like sparkly bits in that plastic. It just might be GPS.

I'd grab a junker/loose cab and replace the arm. It looks like it shouldn't be too difficult.

It's not. It's the wrong kind of plastic for it.

    Gold Plastic Syndrome.

When Hasbro uses gold metal flake in plastic, it gives it a sparkly, swirly look. It also doesn't bond correctly, and will crumble in time, or at the slightest pressure.

    gold plastic syndrome - YouTube

Last known figures to suffer from it are the some of the micromaster superion combiner parts, and early run protoform starscreams. Hasbro has said they learned how to stop it, so hopefully newer figures, like ROTF Blazemaster or leader Starscream won't end up as victims of it.

Armada Prime does not have sparkly, swirly gold plastic, so he's immune.

I'd go for this option, too, though I have no idea if superpants cab is easy and cheap to obtain.
My son treasures his Armada collection and I know he'd be devastated if that happens to his, too.

    I'd recommend going this route.

The last I checked, it should be very easy and very cheap to do, especially if done from a lot on eBay.

That's awesome about your son's Armada collection.

I wasn't being sarcastic. I honestly didn't know, and my Armada Prime is proudly on display in my living room display, and I would hate for this to happen to him.

I didn't get a sarcastic vibe from him at all. And I'm a master sarcasm detector. I think yours is broken, yo.

EDIT - Ha! tikgnat posting right as I'm responding to your post.

I might be able to help you out. I think I have a leftover arm part from superbase prime. Which arm is it, left or right?
