If it's a car topic you can bet it's Ace Convoy.

Anyways...eh I'd rather not help bring it back.

Yep, and after they bring this back, GM can get working on the Nomad.

    ... for real this time.

Well, GM could cheat by getting Holden VE Commodore Utes and rebadging them.

I remember years ago my mother always wanted a El Camino.

Back in 1982, we went to a Chevy dealership and they had one where it was a dealer's car. It had close to 7k miles. But they wanted too much for it.

o_O  Really? If that's what they intend to do, then why a petition? They could just do it regardless. I think the petition is just one way of getting some sort of publicity on it to gauge interest before they possibly "lose" money on something that people may or may not want.

True but about 2-3 years ago we were 6 months away from getting one as a pontiac G8 truck but the brand died...and nobody wanted to start the project up again for awhile.

I doubt we'll be getting that exact version but the next generation of that vehicle.

Other than getting a light blue one and calling it Kup, I think the El Camino should stay in the past. Besides, my uncle still has his.

I still mad that Pontiac is dead.
GM better do something about the Solstice, G8, and GTO. Those cars were awesome(albeit rebadged.)

If they're gonna just use the VE Commodore, then you've got all the power of a Camaro (seriously, the SS and Maloo Utes have the same V8 as the Camaro) and more boot space to go camping/move house/transport dirt bikes/do your shopping: it's almost a practical sports car.

    EDIT:

Here's one with a home made conversion to fit the front kit of a Camaro onto the ute:

Dunno about you, but I reckon that would sell; and almost poetically (or at least Transformery) the license plate says 'Lugnut'

Why would I want a car that tries to do the job of a sporty coupe and a pickup, and accomplishes neither well?

Because this one does both jobs rather well, especially if you don't get the hard cover for the tray :)
