    HoS Prime Box Art [03/29/09]

    Most recent update [04/04/2009] :

    FINALLY FINISHED!

I also did a mock-G1 box art background to go with it.

Hope you all like them. :)

    Cheers!

    Color Teaser 5 :

Title should say enough. This artwork is still a work-in-progress, and is being produced as a result of a partnership between myself and the garage kit's creator, Griffith76 (Eric Chan). Check out his blog on the project here: MONOLOG

The finished artwork will grace the boxes the kit itself is packaged in. I should say that we have plans to continue this partnership, post-HoS01, with an array of projects (which I personally hope lead to a HoS Shockwave, muwahaha).

    Anywho, enjoy the look.

You can also check out the first prototypes, a classic color scheme as well as a Nemesis variant, painted up beautifully by Sabsabby (Sabrina Ng), on her Flickr account - ( Flickr: sabrina_ng85's Photostream ). It was auctioned off on Ebay for $600+. Not bad for a fan project, eh?

I have to tell ya, that version of Prime doesn't look too environmentally friendly. ;)

Nice artwork though! Perhaps some gradiants or colors would make it pop. Maybe, given the time era, color it in a sepia tone?

is the box going to be large enough that when the kit is assembled...it can be placed back in the box?

Awesome artwork , it would be cool if the box could convert to a window display box after you build him and if you want to put him back into the box. Maybe have it come with two covers or make the botom turn into a windows display cover ?
I hope there are still some of these floating around when i get some cash, i love this figure they made.

Not that I'm an authority on the subject, but I do know that there are going to be two box sizes when these ship - one for those who paid for unassembled kits, and those who paid for assembled kits. For specifics on dimensions for either and the compatibility between an unassembled kit's box fitting an assembled figure, you'd have to e-mail Griffith himself.

For the moment, these boxes won't be full-fledged clam shells with see-through cellophane or what have you (which PrimusArchangel does a very good job with, I might add :)  ). To do so would escalate the cost a bit more, and result in more time being spent on this particular project, vice moving on to the next. Grif has been working on this particular one for two years, and is eager to create something new - which I believe may be the second Hearts of Steel figure - Megatron.

Anywho, for the complete low-down on the entire package, your best bet is to contact Grif directly. I just drawl pretty pictures for the man. :>

Thanks for all the kind words, and stick around for updates!

Yeah Alty does great work. As for the boxes I do not have anything fancy in mind as to be honest I'm still pretty worried that there won't even be enough orders to cover the R&D costs for the project and to have a custom box made is close to impossible. I'll try my best to do up proper packaging but it won't be anything too fancy.

Btw I'll be working with Altitron to come up with a series of non transformable mini figures based on his designs and concept. Will update my blog when I have more time to plan and work on those.

You could always place Altitron's work in with the kit and have the kit bagged. This would help with costs

Yep the kits will just have Altitron's artwork printed on a sticker pasted on the box and the parts in bags sorted by colors and the necessary instructions included.

Go ahead and knock yourself out. It's far from complete, though.
