By the way, in case you're wondering, the leds in the carriage gun is orange/red. So different angles will show different colours.

The hands look like they're donated from a either a MP Prime, or Cybertron Prime. Can't be RiD Prime or RiD Magnus.

How nice is this? :D  This mold has so many details, & combined with your rustic paintjob & just-the-right-amount of LEDs, You've brought him to the next level :thumb . It's about time I bought myself a HOS Prime...

    Hey Sabrina,

As usual you work is top notch. The weathering looks appropriate and the use of color is great.

The only critique I have is the placement and usage of the rust. While the effect itself is convincing it's used in such odd places where rust generally would not begin appearing and in such a small amount it looks out of place and artificial.

Oxidation occurs in areas where bare metal is exposed to the air and where moisture would accumulate which is not consistent with the rust on your figure. The rust is occurring in completely random areas and not in large patches like it would in real life. It seems like it's perfectly balanced across the entire figure in splotchy increments which makes it look fake.

I'm a complete stickler for accuracy so when people start adding in realistic weathering or battle damage my eye is drawn to those areas in specific because if you don't do it right and take real life observation into consideration it can either make or break the piece.

As you can see in these extreme examples how rust grows and eventually consumes the object from the bottom up, but where the metal is covered with paint there is none. The first place I would have added rust is to all the bolt holes where water would have stayed inside, slowly eating away at the metal and then anywhere else where the air could have gotten at any unpainted areas such as the edges of painted metal panels, places where panels meet and any high wear and tear areas.

Overall the piece is excellent, but I recommend grabbing some reference of the effect you wish to duplicate and abiding by the rules of nature to achieve a convincing effect.

It's always great seeing your work.
