Well, I decided I've already put the idea out there anyway with my previous thread, and this is something I just have to show of.

I've also decided to consider this a prototype. It needs a few tweaks here and there before I build the next one. Most notably, I need to find away to keep everything together better in train mode. I also may play with the colour a bit. It came out somewhat too orange. Does look nice though, but maybe too inaccurate.

Oh, and can nobody tell me which category this would go into for the BotCon fanart contest?

    Anyway, here are some pics.

That's pretty sweet! Does it stay together when you transform it or do you have to take it apart and rearrange pieces?

As far as the Art Contest category... I'd say the 3D Custom Figure, since it is 3D and transforms, but you could verify that when you get there.

Then again, if you do a few more and put them together or even a scene from the series, you could enter it into the 3D Diorama category

Yes, it stays together. The only way to take it apart is to tear it apart... which is definately not the right way to transform it. ;)

I have no intention of doing others in the near future. It takes a lot of time. I do intend to build 2 more of this one, the ones I will actually use. I want to show both modes. I'll probably print another set of parts and stand them on those, and put together some transformation pictures.

The one I've built now will serve as a spare, in case it's needed.

looks good. I really want one!

You could always sell kits after the contest, I bet a few people would buy it. I know I would.

That's one of the Laser Rod figures named Electro. I have all 4 standing there. Got them recently and haven't given them a place in my collection yet.

Ah yes, back the releasing isse. :)
The tweaking of parts I had to while assembling was rather abundant. And I don't think this something I can change by altering parts, it seems inherent to moving parts. I strongly doubt I'll release it at my website. I may however give (or maybe indeed sell to) anyone who wants them the parts. As mentioned before though, that would be without instructions, which would make this one hard, and I'm not really looking to get support calls. Maybe selling is not a good idea then...

Wow dude that BB kicks ass, like in both forms its very detailed for a computer sketchhed robot. Also like everything just seems to fit into place and seems accurate. Dude ive said this before to other inventionists haha, even if it takes long youre outcome is more rewarding then anything.Specially this, its such a great model and with like awesome interaction you should really be proud of yourself!

Thanks, but what do you mean computer sketched? All the parts are hand drawn. Then they're scanned and coloured, but remain hand drawn parts.
